@robbiejones @Earl-of-Death Probably because it's a prequel before his family gets murdered by him and before the Gods and Titans betray him. That may help to explain his lack of rage and lust for vengeance.
@Ibra8 @Earl-of-Death I'm not fully sure which Kratos I like best though. The "chill" Kratos spoke in a more quiet yet menacing voice, but "Angry" Kratos speaks/ yells with more raw emotion. It's kind of odd considering he is voice acted by the same person through out all of the games.
"Chilled out Kratos" is not as exicting as "Angry Kratos." Not sure what there logic in that is. I thought Kratos from the first God of War was pretty exicing, but then in 2 and 3 he mostly yelled when he talked which could be exicting or just really annoying.
