A licensed property done right.

Y'know, I have a dream that someday a property that I love and cherish will have someone come along to do it justice. A property with a rich and detailed fiction behind it. A property that could, seemingly, not be done wrong- either in film or a game. This property is one you may have heard of- a little series called G.I. Joe. Now close your eyes for a minute and forget about the movie that came out recently, and the universally detested game tie-in- instead, think about the adventures you used to have with these 3 3/4" figures- the weapons, the vehicles, the locations. Now think about a certain game genre: the open world "sandbox" shooter- most notably Just Cause 2- this game had it all; every type of terrain imaginable: snowy mountain peaks, harsh desert flats, jungles, forests, marshes, cities. There were hundreds(thousands?) of collectibles and destruction targets; enemy military bases, weapons facilities, ports, communications centers, airfields- the list goes on. Then you have the hero himself: the man can skydive, base jump, climb mountains and buildings, fight from car roofs, fly helicopters and jet fighters, operate enemy armor and civilian vehicles- this list goes on as well. Rico Rodriguez himself is the G.I. Joe that we all imagined when we were kids. And so we arrive at the point- the perfect G.I. Joe game. ------- Two games, titled simply G.I. Joe and Cobra. Basically it would be Just Cause 2 reskinned with multiple selectable characters(obviously based on what version you bought) and a roster that would be expanded upon via DLC, each complete with virtual filecards. Co op would be 2 player local, four player online. Versus multiplayer would be 8v8(or more), and would be played by players of the opposite versions of the game. The only mode would be free roam, but with the ability to overrun the enemy bases on the map(which would be populated by npc drones- 'Joe grunts and Cobra troopers)- when one of your bases is under attack, there would be a signal sent out to the players on the map individually detailing which base is under attack, your distance from the area plus estimated arrival times(for fast travel), and how many enemies are raiding the base. The leader for the side under attack would then decide how to respond- how many players to send over, by what kind of transport, and what kind of support options to send over, etc. In territories with bases all owned by the same side, there would be npcs patrolling the area on foot or in lightly armored vehicles. ------- There would have to be more to this game, but I think even with just this multiplayer outline, there would be a game that couldn't help but fly off the shelves. Thanks for reading, -El Z. (If you have any suggestions, feel free to discuss them in the comments)
