ElendilElessar's Best and Worst of 2007! Part 1: Special Achievement

Sorry for the delay, I was busy doing something else important. But here it is my Best and Worst of 2007, much of the hard work that I've been doing for the past one-two days that make this longer and straight to the point. I enjoy making this feature as much as reading it. My Game of the Year nonimees category will be on Sunday or Monday along with pictures attached to each game for each individual category. The results will hit after Christmas Day or Boxing Day, if I have the time to do it. So enjoy my feature!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One can say 2007 is exactly similar to 1998, because of how much unpresented games. The way of how much anticipated hits are compared to 1998. Those anticipated games of 1998 were: Metal Gear Solid, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Half-life, Starcraft. and Baldur's Gate. The expectations of 1998 compared to 2007 is just nostagic. What seems to be a good year, just got even better in late 2007, games that included Mass Effect, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and tons of exciting games out this year!As the dust settles and hitting closer to 2008, many award shows, award such prestigous awards to those most favourite games voted by game publications and even the readers can get a chance at this. Such award shows include: Spike's TV: Videogame Awards and also many game publications such as Gamespot and others offer their game show of their own. Without any awkward monments and no regrets, the editors voted their favourites and cast them as nonminees. Recently, Gamespot's Best and Worst of 2007's nonminees, appeared on Thursday and it was kinda surpirising that some games that aren't that hype enough, shown up and the unexpected has come. While some may disagreed on some or all of them. There are only their pick on what Best and Worst are. You can decide your own awards by making an award show of your own or cast your vote in Gamespot's Readers Choice. Many people like me, decided me make our own award shows, not because we disagree on them but we just want our own opinions and just want to have fun with making these awards.

I present to you, my Best and Worst of 2007. I'm pleased to present you, my first Best and Worst Awards. In which I recognize the most prestigous and most remarkable achievements in video games, good and bad, from the past 12 months in gaming. Inspired by Gamespot's Best and Worst Awards, some of their awards are hand-picked by me and some are created just for these awards, spread across four different award categories. Most of these awards are opinionated.I will be picking the top four-five games in each category for our Special Achievement, Dubious Honors, Genre, and Platform awards, then counting down the top 10 games of the year for my final Best Game of 2007 award.

About These Awards

These awards are inspired by Gamespot and my E3 awards. My decision-making process in determining the best games in each category, and the categories themselves, was as focused, involved and intensive as ever. I considered that every game released that has a high rating of 8 and 9 to be in my awards and other key facts. Not only based on those ratings, but some that are plain fun but score below the eight score. Even though, I didn't play these games, I just use my first impressions by watching videos of these games and reading the reviews. Also, in some cases, only specific versiions of games were nominated or multiple versions of gameswere nominated for diffent platforms.

Special Achievement

In many ways, the Special Achievement awards reveils most of the most influential games of this year, also alongside with
distinguished themselves in very particular ways, either as being outstanding in a particular, traditional area, such as having exceptionally impressive technical graphics or good voice acting, or as being at the forefront of an emerging game industry trend. 2007 was very much a year for games with highly distinctive attributes, which made choosing our special achievement awards a very challenging task. Remember, only four games are hand-picked and cast as my top four in these sub-categories.

Best Original Music

In this era, many can comprehend that music is in every game. Either good or bad, the mood of music attracts the player's attention through the story and truly impressed them. Some of us may say that some of these games have impressive music in them, basically not only using ambience but composing a original score to smoothen the length of the game. To the charming tunes of Super Mario Galaxy, the Eastern-strains of Assassin's Creed to the John Carpenter's ****in Bioshock. Heres the nonminees for Best Original Music.

Assassin's Creed

Bioshock

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Super Mario Galaxy

Surpirisingly Good Game

One can say, even those games will such scores can be downright fun. I doesn't neccessary mean that its a bad game or not, if your playing it and having fun, you can have a heck of a time enjoying it, You've seen games like this. We've seen games like this. But every so often, the games that seem to have everything going against them somehow turn out to be good...much better than anyone could have expected. Here's the list for 2007.

Stalker: Shadows of Chernoybl

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

GrimGrimoire

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords

Best Story

Over the past decade, many games enchanted us with just chemistry in the stories they based upon. They combine the multimedia elements and production values of movies with the length and depth of novels--and, of course, they're interactive, which ideally lets you experience the story in a game as vividly as possible. Without a story, whos telling the narrative or the game will be downright terrible. Some stories feel like your in a battlefield and some have such nostagia in them that you want even more. Here are the list for Best Story.

Eternal Sonata

Mass Effect

Bioshock

The Orange Box

Best Graphics

This award is for both Techinal and Artistic. Many games sharked us just high density of pure graphical design that help changed
the course of history. All of these games look spectacular, whether they'are immersing us in the middle of wondrously realized worlds,to rendering battlefields. This year, with the new Direct X10 allowing to push ourselfs to the pure magicfient graphics along with emptlying your pockets to spend on them. DirectX 10 seems to have an application programming interface that works directly with PC game graphics that look so revolutionary and the nostagic is just through the roof. While Artisicly, the graphical design in this game impresses the players.Graphics technology continues to improve dramatically every year, thus lending artists an increasingly effective medium for realizing their artistic concepts in their games. But, as important as technology is, it's fundamentally useless without strong visual design and execution. In fact, a game with lesser technology can still rise above its peers with exceptionally strong artistic qualities. Here are the list for Best Graphics. Note: That there are two awards for this.

Crysis

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Super Mario Galaxy

Eterna Sonata

Most Improved Sequel

2007, has alot of improved games in this year. Many just revolutionize the setting, the engine and the game in general. In fact,
many of these games are anticpated this year, alongisde with low-profile games. Considering some sequels that end up boring and confusing why you brought it, it also improve with such features. Here are the list for Most Improved Sequel.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Halo 3

Super Mario Galaxy

Metal of Honour: Heroes 2 (Wii)

Funniest Game

Games are not only be fanastic but humourous too. Game Developers put more emphasis on realistic games and a pithc of old-fashioned humour. Still there are only selected few that have make us laugh our pants off. Everyone will enjoy a good laugh in the game either from parodies, stupid humour to just the ****cs. Here are the list for Funniest Game

The Orange Box

The Simpsons Game

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction

Best New Hardware

Last year in 2006, both the Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3 came out in late 06 and its really worth the wait. These two
consoles introduced in that year were prestigious in their own nature. But in 2007, not many hardware arrived but only
pc graphics cards and a upgrade to the Xbox 360. 2007 is the year for PC gaming hardware, with a brand new graphics card and
a super-powered computer. Rock Band also introduced an unique ****of gaming, a drum set, a different guitar and microphone
that seems innovative. And lastly the video card that will take cash out of your wallet, DirectX 10. Here are the list for
Best New Hardware.

HP Blackbird OO2 Desktop PC

Rock Band Instrument Set

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT Video Card

Xbox 360 Elite

Eye-popping Control Scheme

Gorgerous graphics can be great alongside with a worthly soundtrack that will keep you in hours. But lets face it, its
all about control scheme. Control Scheme is one that will revolutionize the game and keep your in marathons sessions.
Many consoles have these new control schemes created by game developers themselves to make the game essential to its
own beneficts. Last's year console the Nintendo Wii and the DS used different control schemes to keep you occuiped
by hours and makes less excersize. Heres the list for Eye-popping Control Scheme.

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Dragonball Z: Bukohai Tenuaki 3 (WII)

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Assassin Creed

Best ****c Game

Over the years, ****c games are released over handhelds and consoles called a compiliation, which offers a selection of
old games that you have never heard before or played before. Its just great that developers are reviving some of the old
****c games and putting it on new consoles. Last year has a selection of compiliation games that will satisfied you for
hours. With the new consoles arrived last year, now these ****c games are avaliable now to purchase them online. You can
revisit the ****cs such as Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and etc. Sacrificing some cash to get these
games, some of these games are either too expensive or not worth your while. Lets revisit some of the ****c games of nonmiess of 2007.

Super Mario Bros. 3

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Super Metriod

Best Haunting Game

Games that include a haunting atomsphere along with boo-scares are just one of the impressive games in my opinion. Some of them include such scareness that will wet your pants. Games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill are the popular games that scare you. While either boo-scares or psyological scares, it will haunt you for the rest of your life. Either from a unexpected window to
a some body laying on the ground. 2007, has a decent selection of gameslike Manhunt 2 but I think they need to be more scarer than ever. Ever since ****cs like Clock Tower came out, it was bannedbecause of how its too much for the American audience.
Some of these games are controvesial for being brutal and scarely at the same time. After Halloween, if you still need some
scaring, heres the selection for the best haunting game of 2007.

Bioshock

Manhunt 2

Dementium: The Ward

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Next Week is my GOTY nominess and Honorable Mentions

Last Year, I have done a Best of E3 awardsbut I didn't have enough resources to produce one, because the lack of videos I have and only a few people voted for my nominees. It ended off a failure and I hope in the future, I might do it again, for fun. I have fun writing and cutting up and editing videos that I created and it was an absolutely blast for me. Although no one voted or dare response to my call, I abandoned the E3 awards and deleted all my videos that I worked hard on. The Best of E3 awards annoncements is still remain in my blog, if you can scroll down, you will see it. Many of the inspriring came from Rich Gallup and the E3 documentaries that made me do this. I hope this year will inspire me to do a Game of the Year Awards.

Every year's finale, Gamespot always do the Best of 2007. If you don't know what that is. Its basically, an awards show for the Best Game of 2007, along with categories; Special Achievement, Best Genre, Best Game in System, Best Hardware, Best News, to Worst Game and Game of the Year. Along with the categories, they are sub categories that some may included as, Best Music, Disappointing Game, Best Achievement and etc. These awards are presented by the Gamespot crew adding up some comedy and importance to these awards. After the awards, they also hosted, Reader's Choice which the Gamespot Community can vote their favourite games.

As you can see Gamespot put up, Best Game of 2007 Premilarites, and show all the anticipated games of this year. While these games display there is only for late 2007, I wondered why they didn't include early games like Supreme Commander, Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade. They must have forgotten it like last year when they didn't add Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror to the nominees for PSP. Its just confusing. I hope this year Best of 2007 will be a success.

I will start making a Game of the Year awards along with honorable mentions. Each awards is opinionated and I will abide by them. Its not an award show that a game I hyped my fanboyism to chose this game as the Game of the Year. I only chose these games by impressions. I confess sometimes that I want to chose World of Warcraft as my Game of the Year but I will not do that. I hope I enjoy this award show as you too. My nominees will be annoncement probably tommorrrow if I have time and my annoncements for these awards will be next week.

A Drop of Hope Lost

With amounts of Rumors and News pouring out in Gamespot. It seems to be a very busy site with reviews and all. As you see by how much the Gamespot crew did and accomplish by the effort in the reviews and the news story. As I continued reviewing movies in MovieTome.com, I heard about the score regarding Kane & Lynch: Dead Men getting a 6.0 and other anticipated games, like Blacksite: Area 51 getting a 6.5. First, Blacksite's review seems to be kinda late because I almost brought that game, trying to avoid the other review sites that give negative reviews to this game. After Gamespot posted The Blacksite site, a news article regarding it, the developer starting ranting about stuff. http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=26073607&sid=6183517&om_act=convert&om_clk=newstop&tag=newstop;title;2. Saying that his game is f up is just laughable.

Recently, "On the Spot" have been cancelled saying its "will not be airing today, sorry for the inconvincence", I got suspicious about that. Following the next day, I got a union email, about Jeff Gerstmann, so I was incline to read it. When I clicked on it, and I read it, the skin started to tremble and my emotions changed. Jeff Gerstmann got fired? So I decided to followedvikingwu's instructions to the union post where they discussed about Jeff's Departure which leads me to the endless amounts of posts and editoral blogs that support Jeff. I didn't believe what is happening, I started to panic over what is going on. I decided to read their blog editorals which leads me to links to other people's blog and other sites. I appears that Jeff Gerstmann, editor-in-chief of Gamespot has been fired for giving Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, a 6.0 and CNET fired Jeff for it. I would assume that CNET bribed Jeff to give Kane & Lynch a 8 or higher. Its just very ridculous and just not fair. Sites like Penny Arcade discuss this emergency issue and made a comic about it. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/11/29Its seems Eidos that has been all fired up with this 6.0 score that got Jeff fired "on the spot."

I just don't get it. Why did they fired Jeff Gerstman? The man is just giving his honest opinion regarding this game. And as a result of getting him firing from that?! Just ridculous! I seems Eidos has been crying over this score and with all the Kane & Lynch's advertisments splashed over this site. Its truly a marketing scheme. The video review has been pulled out of Gamespotbut the written review is still riveting for eyes to see. I just hate CNET and Eidos for this! Eidos should just make another Hitman game rather than this piece of garbage. The other sites that praised this game is just getting bribed from their bosses or the company itself. The game is disatrous and it deserves that score! Jeff just stay to his words and do what he got to do. This whole thing is confusing and ridculous. I must say as the others, cancel your total access and block the ads in this site, so CNET gets what they deserved. Before, I thought CNET was a great site with good video productions like CNET live and Prizefight. But now I hated them alot and will never watch their videos ever again!

Jeff is a man with intergity and courage, he has will, humour and strength. He is just one of the people that you will look up to and acknowledge him. He has been one of the most controviseral persons out there, with such controversy as in his reviews. Many fanboys hated him and those that was left in Gamespot acknowledge him for his true being. With such controversial reviews such as, Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Tony Hawk, Crackdown and now Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. This man has the guts to say this game has problems and tell the developers of that game to fixed it. And I adore his saying. Gerstmann strieve to be a honest and professional review and he did very well and perfect. His knowledge of reviews and games succeed and match together towards Greg Kasavin, the former editor in chief of this site. His humour played perfectly in every video content in this site, such as On the Spot, Tournment Tv, guest stars in Button Mashing, Hotspot and other features. His humourous attitude andintelligent makes On theSpot andThe Hotspot, popular. His video reviews, that is always professional and informative, always have a pitch of humour plus to side of not being biased. WIthout him his voice, talent in singing and humour will perish as every drop of hope lost. I have been a reader since 2003, and his work of reviewing games is incredible and astounding. I enjoy his work as much as Greg Kasavin's work.

Jeff Gerstmann has been actively at Gamespot since the foundations. In 1996, he became a editor in this site alongside with Greg Kavasin and Ryan McDonald. Ron Dullin, taught Gerstmann how to do reviews and the success made Jeff Gerstmann, Famous in the web. Around 2003, Jeff Gerstmann created a band called "Midnight Brown" alongside with his roommate. His singing talent is through the roof, not many known as band or ever heard his singing. Jeff Gerstmann also been in guest appearances in televisions shows such as Good Morning, America, Attack of the Show(G4) and some interviews in the newspapers. Jeff Gerstmann is famous for his countless rants regarding about Duke Nukem and how crappy Red Steel is. He also is the master of fighting games and unstoppable at NFL Blitz on the Arcade. His talent of both singing and humouring people is fanastic. His video reviews are also, enjoyable and funny. His humourous talent especially On the Spot and Hotspot, made him a idol among all of us. Ranting about games, getting straight to the facts. He also does a great impression of the guy in the Knife show in the E3 swag giveaway! He has it all!

Like what I said about Greg in my blog. If this is a world of Zelda, then Jeff Gerstmann is the Triforce of Power. With his strength and integrity to humour us all. He is indeed a symbol of hope in this site. The Triforce of Power manifested in him shows that he has the courage and will to stay true to his scores and will never give up, no matter the cost. I have such as much people on that list on Triforce of Power but Gerstmann is the best!

Along many people or things that aspire and change my life,Jeff did the most to change my opinion on Video Games, Reviews, and how hard it is to do this job from tending E3 to video game marathons just to pleased to viewers at home. Not only those three but gave me more courage to write stories or reviews and just to never give up! He is seriously in my top five, taking the third place next to Naruto and World War docementaries and movies like Saving Private Ryan, Behind Enemy Gates, Flags of our Fathers and Band of Brothers,of most influefual and aspiring people in my life and taking first place in my Video Games categories.

Its just sad to hear Jeff got fired because his opinion. I will never forget this day of tyranny. Eidos and CNET should be ashame of themselves for causing this!

Jeff Gerstmann will be missed as one of the most aspiring and remarable reviews out there! Rivaling Greg. I hope this day will never come but its just sad to see him go. Gamespot will never be the same without him. There is no hope for the future of Gamespot. Now whos going to be the leader of the reviews? Ricardo Torres? No hes a previews editor.

Microsoft Press Event Impressions

Microsoft Press Conference kicks up with Peter Moore and some girl from Harmonix playing Rock Band, a new game from Harmonix for the Xbox 360. Rock Band intoduces one of the new additions for this game, you can sing while your friends can play guitar. It like the Singstar series combine with the Guitar Hero series.

After, hearing them sing horriby, Peter Moore talks and compare how much Xbox 360 were sold than its competitors, showing off a graph that indicates that the Xbox 360 is more than in launch with rival the playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. Then he shown how much Third Party games they were in comparison with the other competitors, mocking them because they have 0. What I felt, is that i think those graphs are fake because when Nintendo or Sony's Conference will show a different graph that indicates that they are getting more than its competitors.

Some person from Microsoft comes by and introduces a interactive board game, Scene-it, a game that gives trivia coming on the Xbox 360, along with a new controllers for this interactive board game.He showcase new Xbox live arcade games from old complications like Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe to brand new arcade titles like Warbots. He then announced Xbox live arcade games: Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe will be downloaded now on Xbox Live Arcade. That reaction made me think that Nintendo already made those two compliations for the Nintendo Wii's marketplace.

He then plays with Reggie Bush, a famous Footman player in the new Madden 08 from Electronic Arts, and getting owned by him. After that he showcased additional Televisions and Movies from Walt Disney from Herculus to Tarzan, and many more. I felt impress that more televisons and movies will be at Xbox Live marketplace because i might get a Xbox 360 for that.

Shane Kim then came out and show how much Xbox Live subscribers were now and than before. Saying about 7 million subscribers and assuming that it will some time will increase by 3 million subscribers in the near future. He also talks about how the Xbox 360 is the ultimate gaming console for everyone. He then talks about how Xbox 360 and Windows Vista will be playable to towards gaming.

After that speech, Epic's Cliffy B came out and demos, a new Gears of War for the PC, saying that they are more additional features for the PC version. The demo upveils him teaming up with some guy and taking down some giant monster.I got suprised that they were putting Gears of War for the PC, I might check that out in the near future.

Peter Moore came out and showcase many games that are most anticipated for the holidays, some of them include: Splinter Cell: Conviction, Naruto: Rise of the Ninja, Lost Odyessy, Blue Dragon, Grand Theft Auto 4, Halo 3 and much much more.

The Guys from Infintity Ward came out and demo what seemed to be the gameplay version of the new and improve game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The Demo shows some kind of silent mission, where the player requires to be stealthly and only kill the enemy when they are not looking. This demo impress me, not only that they are not in world war 2 anymore but its just awesome to see the gameplay portion of it.

After Peter Moore showcase upcoming titles like Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Halo Warsand many more. He then show some trailers from Resident Evil 5 to Grand Theft Auto 4(again).

Guys from Ubisoft Montreal came out and demo more Assassin's Creed for the Xbox 360. The Demo shows more of the gameplay portion of steath action, they were demoing another route than the other one to complete the objective. The Demo showcased more of the combat system and how realistic the moves and showing more interactivity the terrain was.

Peter Moore, then premiere Halo the Movie's Trailer, which impress me more because this trailer was kinda about seeing them manufacture some warhogs, an airship and suiting up the marines. After that amazing trailer, Finally the last trailer and the end of the Microsoft Press Conference was more of Halo 3.

Elendil Elessar's Most Anticipated Games of 07

Ever since the 06 with the release of the nintendo wii and playstation 3, tons of games have poured out, some are good and some are bad. In which case, they were most anticipated. Now in this year, more games than ever will come out and more surprisingly games that are most antictispated.

Just to add, these games are opinionated, either you agree or disagree these are my opinions of what are most anticipated

5. Halo 3 - After that amazing trailer which shocked us at E3 2006, we know already that this will be the most intense game, since the launch of Halo 2. Its just amazing to see the environment and the atmosphere, fully improved and in HD. Its just awesome to see Master Chief ever since, Dead or Alive 4. As you may have known, this might be the last game in the Halo series, in the ending will just be dramatic or just awkward. And seeing kids at the starting is kinda boring to me but nonetheless, Master Chief pulls out a shield grenade and boom, a force shield that looks ablsolutely fanastic and then we runs and clashes with some brutes with a BIG hammer! There might be new features like that shield grenade and more vehicles to ride with.

4. Command & Conquer: Tiberum Wars (PC) - As a fan of the command & conquer series, I'm thrilled that they will make a sequel to the best-selling game Tiberum Sun and its expansion Firestorm around 1999. What is more exciting is that Kane from the Brotherhood came back, ever since Tiberium Sun and also cameos in Red Alert 2. The features in that game is more makes it better, an additonal race, more units and buildings, a great cast, enchancing multi-player and Greg Kasavin and Amer Ajami is making that game! I'm kinda disappointed that Westwood is brought by EA. But by all means, this is truely a excitment! I just hope that Red Alert 3 will come out and make the storyline much more better!

3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) - When this trailer was released at E3 2006, I was just amazed, not only the wide variety of characters and new maps but the superb combos each and every character can use. Not only we can see Mario, Kirby, Link, and the original cast from Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube, but those wide variety of characters are just amazing, from a remodeled Samus Aran of Metroid, Wario, Kirby's nemesis, Metaknight, Kid Icarus' Pit, and what shocked me is Snake from Konami's Metal Gear Solid. Like its predecessors, Brawl features new powerups like Nintendogs and other assertments. What really confuses me is that, the wii has motion sensing ability and it will be kinda hard to make a combo or use attacks, it might be possible to work. Also, the music is composed by Final Fantasy's composer Nobuo Uematsu which creates just amazing and heartbreaking music, since the days of his Final Fantasy career. Brawl is truely a epic game that will surely be recommendable to Nintendo Wii players, everywhere!

2. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3) - Snake is back! And as old as ever, well its the boss that looks like Snake. That trailer from TGS 2005, its just heartbreaking, Chicken Robots and a Rebellion against it? Just totally awesome! And also that E3 2006 trailer, its just more amazing, like snake pointing his gun towards his mouth. What also impressed me is the new features in that game, like snake or the boss, can jump in a barrel and roll towards guards squashing them. They will probably add in the sixiasis motion ability, maybe it will look less disturbling than the Call of Duty 3 motion sensing. They also revealed the regular version of snake trying to camo from those Robotic Chickens and also Raiden is back and more badass than ever, showing off his samuari moves, killing those robots, returning the favour to snake. Like sequels, they will featured an arsenal of weaponary and more inpacked missions, Snake will have a hell of a battle against to invaders. As a fan of this series, I hope this will just be impressive as Halo 3!

1. Bioshock (PC/Xbox 360) - Ever since System Shock II, a horror based game set in a space station from Irrational Games came out, it scared the heck out of players and wanting to never close the light. It recieved the top games of 1999, and surely the sequel will be released. Apparently Looking Glass Studios, closed the production, and now Irrational Games and 2k Games, made a game with the same atmosphere but a totally different plot. That amazing game is called BioShock, which is based at a under city in the ocean, and like System Shock, you are alone and trying to get out of this damned city. Like System Shock, you will encounter disturbing looking creatures that want to kill you and the populace that are residenced here, also you will see kids dieing and it will just be more horriflying them ever. This is truely one of my antictispated games of 2007, to the horrific atmosphere and a wide variety of weapons to survive the onslaught.

Thats it my top 5 anticipated games of 2007, like Gamespot's Picks, these are what we are most thrilled about. So tell us about your most antictipated games of 2007?

Lord of the Crusades

Well, not entirely but yesterday I purchase World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade but sadly not the Collector's Edition(damn pre-orders). It comes with four posters which makes a great benefict to my room(next beside my LoZ: Twilight Princess Poster), but enough about that! After Installing the Burning Crusade and playing that fanastic trailer, I commenced with a dranei shaman because I always chose warriors in rpg or MMORPG in specific and also alot of people chose shaman as their new profession but I was wrong, I saw alot of warriors, mages and etc.

When I started up as a Dranei shaman, and watched that amazing introduction, I first entered emotes like /silly and /laugh to see if they changed it ever since the beta version, well they changed a bit but it still entertained me. After that, I began to grind some mobs before I begin quests, when I reached level 3, I began it.

Later when I continuously level up and went to Azure something(I can't remember) and reached level 9, I still grind but started with my first profession, Leatherworking, I haven't started yet but soon I will.

*

Now I'm level 15, and I feel like playing more of it but I can't because my brother always uses this computer and I'm jealous that most of the dranei users are now level 18 and up. If my brother never uses this computer then, I will be level 21 or so, and soon able to ride a mount. If you want to seek me out my name is Zuutaalus, level 15 dranei shaman on the Aerie Peak server.

I will soon level up my warrior because i need to catch up with this guy, if you are reading this well I doubt that but that will be sweet! I have excellent guild before but now its gone or dead, primarily because they are in another server or they changed the vent.

Devastating Moment at Gamespot

After my long, five-day stay from December 29th to January 3rd at New York City during the New Years feastivities, going into the Nintendo World store for the first time and after my pre-birthday celebration on January the 2th. My family and I left Brooklyn and enroute back to my home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After the hours spend on coming home and stopping at service areas, we finally came home at a tiredsome state. What quickly got to my brain, is Gamespot.. apparently I didn't came to this site since late 2004 and somewhere between first or last quarter of 2005. When I attempted to log into my account, I forgot my password since I knew it two years ago, so I checked old hotmail to see whats my password and my mail box is renewed, and I said "wth"! So thats why I created another account, which is annoying!

When I logged into my account, I glimpse at the news and it says on the headline... "Greg Kasavin Bids Gamespot Farewell" I started to tremble and tears ran across my eyes and I said in shocked, " This.... can't... be.. happening?!?" I solemly click on the link with despair and read the news article. It saids Greg is going to work for the developers in a unknown video game and this is second last week in gamespot. I quickly then, went to Greg's profile and read his farewell blog, his blog was quite long but most professional like him. It is atmost tragedic that he is leaving gamespot since he was occuied in this job in 1996 when Videogamespot was formed to now. He is one of the most professional editors and well known in the video game industry. Seeing that he is going to work in the video game industry instead of writing it, almost eqvialent to Bob and Carrie's job but in different companies.

Greg Kasavin is indeed one of the most influencfual and professional reviewers out there, the many things he did from video features to video reviews was downright hilarious and brilliant. His unique sense of taste and wisdom on video games differ than other tastes, he primarily favourite is fighting games but most importantly enjoying the game not judging by its graphics or what not (but judging on crappy games). He is definietly not bias or a fan of any console, with the exception of the Neo Geo. As he stated: "We tend to be netural towards consoles and we think all consoles are equal and they have excellent games in them" Greg Kasavin is indeed a talented editor and specifically a great site director, directing what to do next or professionally writing out reviews that will satisfly or get bashed by the gamers. Words that I cannot describe to Greg, he is indeed one of the best reviewers out there!

If this is the world of Legend of Zelda, Greg Kasavin is would be the Triforce of Wisdom because many creative work he had done is by pure wisdom and talent. I have many people one my list who is in this triforce but none can match the caliber of Greg Kasavin. This is how smart he could be, his laughter and passionate of games is truly in his heart.

Along many people or things that aspire and change my life, Greg did the most to change my opinion on Video Games, Reviews, and how hard it is to do this job from tending E3 to video game marathons just to pleased to viewers at home. It is just a tragedy to see Greg leaving Gamespot, since Joe Fielder, Shane Shatterfield, Amer, Gicarlo, Bob and Carrie Goukos left Gamespot to proceed on their dream. Like Amer, Bob and Carrie saying that its their once and a life-time opportunity. Greg said the same thing.

Well I wish you luck Greg Kasavin, Editor-in-Chief at Gamespot, after the few days, Gamespot will never be the same.

Here are the most aspiring, most memorable and yet most impressive gamespotting videos that change my opinion.

Best of E3 Documentaries

I’m very pleased to present to you Best of E3 Documentaries, this feature in text format is where we honor the most memorable, and the most magnificent, documentaries through the past years of e3. For the last few years since 2004, Gamespot set up a video documentary, detailing their experiences and thoughts about e3. Proudly directed and produced by the ever-so popular, Ben from the highly anticipated movie, Curse of the Ninja, this documentary made a head start to produce, one of the detailed videos and yet pleasing of how these editors strive to give the audience, one of the best coverage than other gaming publications. As usual, each documentary is presented via of the show floors, interviews from gaming developers, exclusive behind the scenes footage and conferences either for launch-titles or console conferences revealing their latest new console or other specific add-ons to their original console.

I’m very honored to present to you, at least 30 or less awards in all, spread across two different categories, although, these two categories are confirmed as not like the Gamespot’s Best and Worst feature, but presenting which is most impressive and most disappointing documentaries of all time, at this time. Similar to how the schedule works in Gamespot’s Best and Worst, I will released one category a day, following up to Wednesday, the 23th where you voters can cast your vote, and nominate one of your documentaries via on category text format.

Also like the Readers’ Choice category in each year for the Best and Worst, the voting that will determine who is your best e3 documentary, will commence (like I said in the previous paragraph) on Wednesday the 23th, where I will start making voting threads in the Gamespot Live Union to January the 6th, when the polls are closed and you cannot vote anymore even if the thread is still open (unless one of the officers is willing to close it). So right now, you have plenty of time to cast your vote for the Best of E3 Documentary.

About These Awards

After watching these E3 Documentaries, from 2004 to now, I decided on making a feature called Best of E3 Documentary, aspired by Gamespot’s Best and Worst feature and Spike TV’s Video Game Awards airing every year in December. These anticipated videos, are detailed by categories, revealing which is the best and worst from different platforms, genres and etc. These awards are generally created by me but surely the voters will help me add, additional categories and will definitely include in the credits, for your creative contribution.  My decision-making process in determining the best e3 documentary in each category, and the categories themselves, was as focused, use of creativity and intensive as ever. I considered all the Gamespot documentaries, not only by how detailed it is, but my perspective of how dramatic, intense, humorous and other key factors. I continue to debate which will make it in these categories and which are not, stating from my opinion, it have taken away some of the categories because of its immature material and useless category that will not make sense, rather than voting. As you notice in the best and worst feature, these specific documentaries were not neglected in favor of these videos but only how it was detailed either by how entertaining it was, impressive behind the scenes, and by the director. Also in some cases, I picked these categories that will suit the nominations.

This feature is not tolerate any documentary wars, from my hand-picked nominations. Soon you will be able to cast your vote on your own favorite documentary on these categories provided by me or by you, once I have finished these categories. And pleased be civilized and post your nominations, reasoning why this is your favorite documentary on these categories, I’m not forcing you to cast your vote, but I would recommend you doing so, the more the better, making it more easier and less work to tally up the scores. I beg of you pleased do not plagiaries this feature; it is copyrighted by ElendilElessar’s Best of E3 Documentaries @ 2006.

Please and thank you for the reading this and nominating one of these specific categories. I will be proud if you reply to my thread on the Gamespot Live Union, submitting your votes, you will be gladly add to the credits as the Contributors or the Contenders.

Have a fun time voting and see you in the Gamespot Live Union forums. Take Care and Happy Holidays!

Burning Addiction

Theres no game features better than gamespot's features. Throughout the years, gamespot features have pleased the gamespot audience, Gamespotting, Tenspot, Burning questions, Hotspot, On the spot, Let's Gamespot, Last Word, to other amazing features categorize under specific holidays and current events. Ever since the first marathon ever, it have been a huge popularity feature for users(especially for subscribers), choosing awesome titles like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Madden 07, and Saints Row. But October 28, 2006 on 2 pm EDT (11pm PDT), the "true" marathon commence and so goes my addiction..... WORLD OF WARCRAFT: BURNING CRUSADE GAMEPLAY MARATHON!!!! (well not the retail game actually, this is a closed beta marathon)

wait a minute.. no more, slapping babies or Man Cannon?

On the day of this marathon, I prepared with an abundance of provisions and sacrificing my washroom privileges, so that my hygiene level will decrease (sounds like something in Sims 2). So on 2pm EDT, I tuned in for this marathon, NOT going into the chatroom because i can't concentrate watching the marathon while reading spam and lame jokes. As I pressed the play bottom, I willing to see the three editors fulled with intellect and strength, but the short-minute beginning delay wasn't that I expected. After the delay screen disappears, the starting of WoW marathon begins with three editors whom is known to all, Bethany, Greg Kavasin and  Justin Covert starting on a big table with three alienware labtops and a machine that stabilized this marathon and can switch screens while seeing them playing burning crusade beta. After the complimentary introduction from the three brave editors, we tuned onward to gameplay portion of the marathon, where I see two gamespot editors' characters riding on a gryphon enroute to Redridge Mountains from Ironforge where they discuss about getting Greg a epic mount because he won't keep up while riding his own horse in the new terrain. In the forests of Elywnn, at a settlement east of Stormwind beckoning on buying a epic mount, Greg loaned Bethany's gold so that he can purchase a epic mount from the horse breeder vendor. Getting advance horse training and a epic mount, Greg saddle up with Bethany and charge forth to Duskwood, enroute to Nethegarde Keep and onward beyond the Dark Portal where the name is known to all Warcraft players ever since the second installment of Warcraft.... Outland… After they arrived at the Dark Portal, they waited for all the other editors to arrive but they receive news that only Dave Toister and Stanley Lin was the only two editors who arrived there.. When they arrived, the five editors spirited to the dark portal and jumped in, giving a few seconds on the brief loading time and then… they appeared in a desolate red land of Outland... where they sought a huge battle between the alliance and the pit commander’s forces. Bethany said to not interfere with its forces because the menacing demon infernals are too high level for them and the three gamespot editors are level 60s except for Stanley Lin, hes level 64. The editors found a flight path to Honor’s Stand (alliance city) where they focused on finding an instance where they can experience with the new creatures awaiting in it……

Without too much spoilers in this instance, I'll cut it short.. They first arrive at some orcish base that contains several of instances of it some are for lvl 70s and up and some are 60+, Bethany advised them to continued on into the 59+ instance because they will sure be wiped out. The orcs in this instance is for sure, looked like those orcs from Warcraft II, well these clans are called the Laughing Skull Clan and the Bleeding Hollow Clan. After they finished a dozen of orcs with the kidney shot from Greg(Female Human Rouge) and the Sniping skills of Justin Colvert(Dwarven Man Hunter), they fight the first boss of this instance wielding two axes with no hands, Greg joked about him not unable to brush its teeth because it doesn't have hands so Bethany said "I think it comes with attachments". Soon after the first boss was defeated they continued on luring orcs to kill them, on the orcs are flying with no mechanics what so ever, so hilarity ensues with a group of flying(floating) orcs attacking them. I mean orcs are hilarious when you see them doing their emotes but floating orcs, thats even funnier than any other dances or any other emotes...I think after facing alot of orcs they fought a orc mounting a dragon, the battle has alot of sacrifices but at the end the bear(Stanley) and Dave killed the dragon and ressurect Greg, Bethany and Justin.
