hey peeps, i'm very interested in becomming a game tester. i've done some searching on the net and the one place that keep's coming up time and time again is elitegametester.com. does anyone have any experience with using this company? there is a membership fee to join, soall i basically need to know is if it is legit or not.

(i have already heard all the stories of how being a game tester sucks, how it's boring, blah, blah, blah... so save those comments for someone else)

While getting a job as a QA tester is the easiest way to get into the gaming biz, this site does not sound legitimate. I worked as a game tester for close to a year and I have never heard of any sort of recruitment like this. A legitimate company/job opening will not require you to pay to apply. Most gaming companies post job openings on reputable sites. The site you mentioned sounds like a complete scam. Good luck with the search... being a tester is a lot of fun if you have a passion for gaming.

Before any of you go and answer, let me explain my situation. I am a big collector and huge fan of Street Fighter. When Street Fighter IV came out, I got EVERYTHING for it. I bought the Chun Li Fight Pad, the Special Edition (cheaper MadCatz) stick, the Tournament Edition stick, and the Special Collector's Edition of the game. I took my cheaper Special Edition stick apart and modded it myself with all the same official Sanwa Denshi parts used in the arcade and in the Tournament Edition stick while making a few modifications of my own to make it more asthetically unique for me. Because it is the equal of the Tournament Edition stick now, it's all I ever use. I have never used the Tournament Edition stick. It's just sitting in the box. Part of me wants to keep it because I'm a collector and because I like having a back-up stick while the other part wants to sell it and make some money off of it while allowing it to be used by someone that really wants to use it. What do you all think?

Keep it! Even if you don't use it, I bet it's still special to you. Not to mention, it sounds like a sick stick. You would be nuts to get rid of it if you didn't need the money, and it's always good to keep a back up around.

With the overwhelming use of the word wouldnt you have thought that it should have been added sooner?

There are a million words in the English language? Damn...I need to spend some quality time with my dictionary. Also...I don't know how I feel about our 1337 internet lingo making it into the English language... but hey. it's lulz.
