disregarding the playlists that created especially for the new maps and the old maps

Well yeah of course. If you buy DLC you deserve a lobby to play the maps. However. I shouldn't be forced out of playing fun game modes that were available before the DLC because the designers of the game are stupid and that's the only way they can segregate us.

Besides, no one is forcing you to buy map packs, and you can still enjoy multiplayer without getting them.

Depends on the game. As I mentioned. Halo 3 locked out of a lot of a lot of playlists if you didn't buy the DLC. You'd get kicked constantly if you didn't have them in lobbies in Call of Duty World at War(COD games thankfully fixed this.)

Somebody explain to me why in the heck would you waste $10 to $15 dollars on map packs. Unless of course it's a terrible game that locks you out of playlists until you buy the DLC(Halo 3).

Playerbases can fluctuate rapidly as well. How many people are playing Brink. Or Kane & Lynch 2. Or Duke Nukem Forever. Or other multiplayer games with map packs that aren't popular at all?

Finding games when a game becomes less popular is even more troublesome when you own a specific map pack and are only allowed to play with people with that map pack. What if the map pack wasn't popular and you're stuck playing with 80 players that are in tune with your configuration? Sure you could delete it. Then you'd be admitting you wasted money on a map pack and are admitting I'm right.

Not to mention. What if EA, Microsoft or SONY shut down the servers for XBL or PSN or EA's game to game culling? Money down the drain again. Especially if the game doesn't have LAN or split screen(Battlefield 3).

I don't get why you'd waste that money when you could spend that same money towards a GREAT game like say Journey or Shadow Complex or Dishwasher the Dead Samurai. You know. Games without DLC.

I know Crapcom and Ca$shcom

But these are 8 full complete games(9 if you include Magic Sword in Final Fight Double Impact) with no DLC(Rocketmen comes with a free DLC expansion.)

When I bought my copy for $20 a few months ago, I noticed that the piece of paper with the code on it had an expiration date. Assuming all DLC codes have that same date, it has already passed and you couldn't download it for free anyway.

Yup. Further proving that ME2 was a bad purchase decision and will continue to be.

[QUOTE="EllieStranger"]

I don't want to register with EA so I'm not gonna open it until I know. Otherwise I'll return it if I have to do anything with EA.

worlock77

What's the big deal? I mean you've already given them your money so...

I can just return it and get my money back. Plus it was out of the bargain bin.

Maybe to get DLC that you pay for.

But I never signed up for anything and still got the Dragon Plate armor and the extra side missions. I think those are the only things that are included with disc though.

Nope. I never registered and got the Dragon PLate armor and the extra side missions. They become available after a little while of playing.

It says on the back "Activate the Cerberus Network* To Access Bonus Downloadable Content to access weapons, vehicle missions and more"

and below it says "*EA ACCOUNT AND GAME REGISTRATION WITH CERBERUS NETWORK CODE REQUIRED TO ACCESS ONLINE FEATURES AND SERVICES"
