I have decent computer tech knowledge but I would rather get a expert opinion on which of these 2 models I should get. Both are in my price range to a degree and for the games I play and future games I will play I hear they are both good. But which is better.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8968101&productCategoryId=abcat0507002&type=product&id=1217029964838

Thats the PNY Verto NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO overclocked version with DDR3 768MB

Then you got this

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8968101&productCategoryId=abcat0507002&type=product&id=1217029964838

The XFX GeForce 9600 GSO.

They both seem to have similaritys obviously but then there seems to be some differences with one having ddr2 and the other being ddr3. I am not much the video card wiz so I come to you guys with what you think is better. And for the record these are the cards I am looking at. I don't want suggestions on other cards because my budget is tight but just tight enough to get either one. Unless said card is leaps and bounds better for the price. Anyways help me understand which card is better.

I am getting a new sound card to upgrade my PC from the old onboard sound I currently have.

I mean I know its no harder than installing a video card which I have done, But my question is do I have to uninstall my current sound drivers. Like when installing a new vid card you uninstall the old video drivers put the card in then use the software given too you. Wasnt sure if its the same deal or if it dosn't matter.

Yeah I see the input button. I will be all set then. As for size of things I find it harder to play on a bigger screen. I consider my self an above average gamer. handle myself very well in all FPS games and will play any genre game. I played COD4 Mile high club on veteran on my friends 40" plasma screen and it was so hard to get the achievement for him because of the size of his screen. I feel your eyes lose too much while trying to cover the massive screen. Although looking great is it worth the lack of your own performance as a gamer, I personally don't think so. The average gamer will always say yes because they assume bigger is better. although I would love it for movies and TV. Playing on my smaller 20" tube TV very old style I handle my self a lot better. So I think I will enjoy the quality and size of my monitor with the 360.

I posted this in the 360 boards but I don't think anyone over there is very tech savy.

I bought this monitor for my PC 2 days ago http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8894039&type=product&id=1211587387558 Its a nice monitor with both VGA and DVI input. Now my question is that I want to get the 360 VGA cables so I can plug them into my monitor. My monitor is currently hooked up from the DVI to my PC. So the VGA is free for use with the xbox 360. So once I get the cables and get it all hooked up. Can I switch between the 2 modes with no problem as if I had a console selector to swtich between my gaming systems. Like press a button on have my monitor go back to PC and press a button and it switches to my 360, How does this work?

I am getting my new gaming rig today and I asked about liquid cooling and I appreciate all the help. My next question is DVI vs. VGA. I am getting a 19" widescreen gateway monitor HD. Whats the difference between the 2 since I have the choice how I want to hook it up.

I am a moron when it comes to this stuff I was watching some videos on LCPCs and I was wondering how often you have to fill the pump with liquid or if you even have to at all. And can you use water or must you use the liquid that they give you?

Is there any other way to install this OS on the PS3 without burning it on to a DVD. Can you download it from your PS3? Or transfer the ISO to the PS3 over your network?

Just like some alternate ways for me so I can see what works best for what I got.

Before I go on this long post, I would like to say I will be buying RE5 on day one.

My main concern with RE5 is that it will be too much like 4. Now before you start bashing, hear me out. I enjoyed 4 but let's face it, it did not do anything but push the series back. Resident Evil is the most well-known survival horror series in gaming history for it's great stories/backstories, scary atmospheres, intricate puzzles causing gamers to think and use clues, as well as a few other things. Now I'm going to go more into this but I've said this many times on this board, on other boards, and to friends, RE4 was a dumbed down Resident Evil game with more action. Thus, more people would play it. Now here's how it is that.

Resident Evil 4 was first off, the first Resident Evil game w/o legitimate zombies(not that it dumbs down the game but come on, a RE game without zombies?). This game had no backstory(That's one of my favorite things about RE is that you get more out of it story wise making it more memorable). It wasn't scary at all(play this at 2 A.M then go play most of the others at 2 A.M and you'll see what I mean. Also, let's figure out what survival horror would imply). The puzzles in this game were ones even a 6 year old would be able to solve(this is the first one where the hardest obstacle in the game was to move a block a little bit. Normally they require you to think and find clues to figure it out). They gave you more ammo than in any RE game to date(in most RE games, even if you have high accuracy, you're going to have to run at times because you will run out of ammo if you fight. RE4 was never that case.).

With all these negatives I would like to mention that they made a great camera in this one and hopefully will be in every single one from now on.

Resident Evil 4 did bring some new light to the series since it was starting to die but at what cost? Yes you made more money. But, what about the fans that love the style of gameplay from before? Are you going to just never make one like the ones before RE4 again and leave them in the dust. In all honesty, RE4 felt more like an action game than a survival horror game.

So RE4 was a good game but let's face it, it's steering the series away from its roots and is losing everything that made it what it is. If I could compare this to anything outside of gaming, it would be what all the Metallica fans thought once the Black Album(I do like it and I'm not bashing it or Metallica) came out. The fans thought that they sold out and are leaving their fans in the dust. That is what my friends who are RE fans and myself are feeling right now. They gave up on us for more money because let's face it, if there's alot of action and killing, more people will buy it.

So I would hope that even if 5 doesn't go back to what made RE the greatest survival horror series in gaming(which it looks like it isn't), then hopefully we can at least get some in the older style of survival horror. It just makes me sad that the only game this gen that felt like a real survival horror was Alone in the Dark.

So I don't care if you agree with me or not. Go ahead and flame me. But a question I have for everyone is, is Resident Evil slowly becoming more of an action genre than a survival horror genre? If it is, I hope something will take its place

dukebd699

I see what you are saying and I 100% agree, A lot of people are bashing you but my guess is they have never really got into the games for the PS. Resident Evil is now more of an action game with semi scary elements. RE4 was good I liked it but I would like the game play style to be in a zombie infested scenario. Also the way this name gameplay is its taylored to open worlds. It wouldnt work in confined areas like previous RE games which I guess is good and bad in its own way. But I do agree with you in alot of the things you say. RE is an action game now and has without a doubt lost its Survival Horror title. Right now for a survival horror game I look too the Next Gen Silent Hill. That series has taken what RE has left behind. RE5 with be a great game but as I have been telling all my friends as with RE4 its just not the same. Its got its pros and cons but the biggest con with me is its lack of the horror and panic I felt with the others.
