Pros: outstanding xbox live ( i have a ps3 no fanboy but) xbox live beats the online community hands down ill explain some cons later that the ps3 is good in points as well
Voice chat can private chat with any 1 friend that u wish while playing one game example: u can be playing fable 2 while ur friend is playing fallout3 u can both still stay in voice chat, text messaging while playing ( ps3 has that ability now as well) you can invite your friends with a push of a button.
xbox achievements are fun and can make some games have alot more replay value then others. (ps3 just got their system to do trophies im starting to play uncharted again lol)
the user friendly dashboard is unlike anything u ever seen! (almost to the cons) you can compare games with your friends and even recent players that u recently played with in some games i guess we can go to cons but other then that i prefer my xbox over all of my systems but other systems have their strong points ill explain.......
CONS: Red Ring Of Death meaning you get a red ring around your xbox where the light is green and that basically means your xbox is bricked and you cant do anything no games,no dashboard,no nothing :( this is my third xbox :( another con is money 50 dollars a year for a 1 year subcribtion is pointless PS3 works flawless with out have a monthly fee or yearly fee. sometimes the voice chat will not work (all depends on ur internet connection and or if you are using a router) your NAT may not be compatible with what the xbox needs i cant really say to much about the cons but all in all i can tell you its a must have system regardless if you decide to get a ps3
im really sick of console wars and i hope the mod people on gamespot reads this part because im not saying ps3 or xbox360 and im not trying to start any trouble with the Xbox fanboys but seriously console wars are fake really i mean if you have the money get all systems you will enjoy both of them if not ps3 and xbox360 are both fun period! When u did decide to make ur purchase of a ps3 and or xbox360 do me one favor and get a HDTV! makes the next gen experience incredible!! on to the ps3 pros and cons
PS3 PROS: Great games coming out this year and next. Socom4:Confrontation i cannot wait for! They just released Trophies on the new firmware update which again with the xbox360 makes replay value so much more fun.. The private chat is different from the xbox360 version you kinda automatically enter the room like a video chat if you have a camera which is nice and you can chat up to 8 people!! i think 8 lol i never got past 2 people so lol. you can stream pics while ur in chat that is really nice (kinda of a con i guess but u cant private chat and play games together :( but its cool) you will have fun on this system also
PSN is great 75% of that stuff on there is free no joke! Trailers,themes,wallpaper,demos etc... Microsoft should look into that.
CONS: there really is not anything bad to say about this system all though the microphone communication is kinda weak in my opinion i like xbox360's chat system a whole better the other con i guess maybe? is that u have to install everything you download example: demos u download from the PSN after it finish's u have to install it. Metal gear solid u had to install it like 5 times lol Modders again this is just my opinion though i am just helping a consumer who cant decide on a system of this years next gen systems if people have a problem with what im saying (Xbox360 fanboy's) they shouldnt be offended in anyway

You pretty much nailed it in the butt. Why own one system if you can own them all. There should be no such thing as "brand loyalty" because let's face it, develops & publishers have none so why should we?
