I would like to know how your game ended.

I was a Paladin and had very high karma through-out the game. My ending was very disappointing and resulted in my not being able to do anything and dieing just before completeting the purifier.

I wondered if having lower Karma, or completing different aspects of the game resulted in the same ending, because mine was very anti-climactable. I jsut died not being able to do anything....

Discuss.

It's supposed to be that way. A big part of the DMC games is to beat the level with the best score possible... so it would ruin the fun of that if you could just save wherever you want, at least for the hardcore DMC gamer.

Kill_them_all

I have both work and college.

I have 30 mins or so of spare time during some days. I can play the game but never progress. I playing on hard difficulty so it takes some time to reach your destinations.

I'll be playing this game for a year and not make any progress. A very poorly designed mechanic that's unnecessary. This game isn't "that" fast paced that such a mechanic exists.

I guess it makes sense. I just hate losing all that damn progress! :S It's annoying for me because I'm playing DMC 4 on PC with Keyboard and mouse. Not as fun as a controller. This makes me not want to play the game.

Its not a big deal and I don't see any reason to complain.JangoWuzHere
How's not a "big deal". You have to go somewhere. And you just made it to the boss. You will have to restart from scratch even if you save.

You can collect more of course. But there isn't any check points. I'm playing on hardest difficulty so it takes around 45 - 50 mins to get to boss. You use ORBS to buy items and such. And you get crystals for beating missions. That let's you buy skills. Although it is a fast paced game. I played it on PS3 and 360. At these check points it saved automatically if I'm not mistaken. On PC there isn't even a function. You can press esc, options, save game data. It WILL save the game data. But you have to start from scratch. And if you got any valuable items other than orbs. They're gone as well. Is a check point so MUCH to ask for?

And I say this wtihout any regret.

As fun as Devil May Cry 4 is.

It is also the dumbest game I've ever played on PC. Why?

Let me explain:

I was at the first level (much further now) and I got up to the boss in Devil Bringer without too many problems. I had to go so I just "SAVED" and exited the game. When I loaded my saved game I was a bit surprised. Why?

Because all my ORBS were saved. But I had restart the freaking level again. From beginging to end.

There's no actual "save" in DMC 4. Only when you finish a mission which is a completely stupid idea. Capcom has gone down hill on this one.
