Nevermind, they're using FO3's engine, so it will be the same combat system.

Check out Obsidian's poll on their main page:

What kind of combat system do you prefer for an RPG to have?

Guess who's winning.

Dare we dream?...

Baranga

*rub eyes* that result can't be real o.O But I'm still pessimistic because I can't see the Embryo engine being used for Isometric TB combat, and I can't see Obsidian developing the game from scratch since the game is coming out in 2010. Or maybe they're using whatever engine they used for NWN2?

The Fallout franchise is f'ed no matther what. Beth's already mutilated it. As for Interplay, they didn't make FO1/2, Black Isle did. And even though one of the core devs from FO1/2 is helming the new MMO, I doubt it's gonna be any good because considering the financial state Interplay is in, profit is gonna be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd priority of the project. That's if (a big if) Interplay manages to keep the license.

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"]Didn't it get cancelled? Johnny_Rock

It did. No one has actually read the first news article under the headline.....

No it's not final yet. Notice the word "intends." Interplay is gonna dispute this, and there's gonna be a legal battle.

The only toning down during the early period I remember was slightly increasing price the of hatchery. That's hardly significant. You must think that in order for a game to be called balanced each match up has to be a perfect 50-50.

No starcraft wasn't balanced when it came out. Zerg rush, anyone? Plus all the bugs & glitches that had to eventually get fixed.

F1_2004
Haha zerg rush. In the old SC vs DoW thread there was this guy who claimed SC was horribly unbalanced because of zealot rush. I'm eagerly waiting for the next newbie to say "marine rush."

What settings are you playing on? The environment seems very dull in those pics.

In my mind, any Sims game and WoW are childish games, mainly due to the overly cartoon graphics, gameplay and community. And in this scenario, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I can't stand people who don't respect that and brand others as stereotype bandwagon ridersSolidus171
You are a stereotype bandwagon rider. Whether one likes retail or DD version more is preference.

Btw, the average age of people playing WoW is something in the 20s. You're like this old lady I know who insists that video games are only played by kids, while in fact the average age of gamers is also in the 20s.

You're not missing anything great. Dead Space craps all over RE5 as far as horror survival genre goes. DP's control is clunky, yes, but the first time you realize you can't even walk while holding a knife you'd curse Capcom every couple minutes for the next 10 hours.

Many of you probably played Diablo when you were little kids, that's why you found the game creepy/scary. Same for me, I played Diablo when I was 12 and it was mildly disturbing. But now at 25, after playing a million horror games and watching a billion horror movies, the scenery just seem dull and no longer creepy to me.

Also, muted and dark colors don't automatically make a game creepy. Ever heard of Sanitarium? That game was quite vibrant and still managed to be one of the creepiest games I have ever played. Colors alone don't make the mood/atmosphere. The content and the way it's presented play a much larger part. So wait until you play the game before you judge its atmosphere.

How can you people list Bethesda in there? 360 has been their lead platform for couple years now, and their games are very much console'ish. Btw, Sega is the publisher, TW series were made by Creative Assembly.
