The reason the 3-D gimmick will fail and has failed in the past is for the simple reason that people get sick, and get hurt while playing the games or watching movies in 3-D.

Will you still play in 3-D knowing it will cause you to be ill or permenately degrade your vision?

The problem with RAGE is that everything is pretty much baked in, which means you can't really improve the overall graphics with a few tweaks like you could in Crysis. You also can't make texture mods, unless people want to start releasing 25GB files on the internet.

I'm just guessing here, though. It could be different in the end.
