Better late than never...

As some of you might have guessed, this is another happy new year blog post. I know that many of you have been reading quite of few of these recently or even been making one yourself so I'll keep it brief:

Happy new year!

There now that's done, all I have left to write is that I wish you all a good end of holidays and a lot of luck, because that's what really makes all the difference.

Slippery slope

Hello folks! I hope you guys and gals have been having nice holidays. I have really been enjoying my Christmas present: a Canon EOS 400D (not the best reflex I know but still good enough for me). I might upload a few photos I've made for you to see, although I'm sure most of you don't give a damn. Otherwise I've been writing poems, meeting friends, and just generally partying late at night.

I've recently been ice skating (hence the title of my blog post) with two girls I know. I hadn't skated for 4 years, and the first 10 minutes were a bit awkward, especially since the girls I was with were really good. But with their help and a bit of practise I managed to remember how to skate properly. Of course I couldn't do all the fancy pirrouettes and stuff the girls were doing but could still race against them.

Hope you all spend a nice new year's eve with your family, and if family's unavailable then I hope you've got friends as a back up!

Looking around...

As many of you have surely noticed, I haven't been around much in the last two months, if at all. Now that school is over, I just might be around some more, having a look at how everyone's been doing. That's no guarantee that I'll be around all the time, just now and then. Allright I'm off...

Edit: I'm not using my own computer right now and aside from the keyboard which is completely mucked up this bloody machine won't let me comment on blogs! (God it took me a long time to find the exclamation mark)

2nd Edit: I used Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, problem solved. (But now it's really slow)

My new mouse bit me....

I'm back from holidays! I've managed to tan (slightly) and am going to spend this week (the only one I have left before school starts) playing Disgaea 2 like crazy. I have also just bought a new razor mouse: the Deathadder. That thing is more of a snake than a mouse, hence my blog entrytitle. I just love it's smooth curves, slick body, blue glowing logo, and it just feels right in your hand. i still have to get used to this beast before I can kick ass on Far Cry (the original PC version) on realistic!

I also plan to buy a PSP slim sometime in October. Why then? Because that's when Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness and Final Fantasy Tactics come out! The idea of being able to play these games on a handheld blows my mind. Has anyone got one of the new PSPs? Any feedback? By the way, please don't recommend me any games already out on the PSP, as none of them really interest me. I've got an Xbox360 that plays all the FPS / Racing games I want, and I'm not really into platformers. All I lack is RPGs (although Eternal Sonata looks sweet!).

I'm off to the South of France!

Finally, tomorrow I'm leaving really early (like at 4 in the morning). I'm going to St Tropez on the Côte D'Azur in France. I'll be back at home on the 25th. I don't know if I'll have access to a computer there so chances are you won't hear anything from me untill I get back. I wish a nice end of holidays to all those who (like me) still have a few weeks left, and a good start at school / work for the unfortunate ones who's holidays are over.

*Dreams about long sand beaches and warm weather....*

PS: Many of you may not know that I speak fluent French, so language will not be a problem.

"Your life is a failure. Press reset."

Although I don't normaly read manga's I've recently picked up one called Reset written by Tetsuya Tsutsui. My girlfriend liked Tsutsui's style so she game me her copy once she had finished it. It's a sci-fi thriller that involves video games, so I thought it might be relevent. Here's a summary (not in depth):

The story is about this man who wants his revenge on an entire neighbourhood because someone set his house on fire. He creates this realistic online LAN game that recreates the neighbourhood virtually. The game is exactly like real life except that players have an infinite amount of lives and there are no rules. Eventually everyone in the area is playing the game and shooting each other in the virtual world. However the game is so realistic that people begin to wonder if the real world is not also a video game. They become so addicted to the game that they can't see the difference between virtual and reality, and end up commiting suicide and killing each other in the real world.

Of course there is no chance of this really happening, but it got me thinking about how people could use video games for a purpose other than entertainment. Recently you see more and more in-game adds, and perhaps we will soon get religious messages or other kinds of propaganda through video games, inciting us to act in a specific way.

Creepy...

It's been.... years.

Literally, it's been years since i've last posted on Gamespot or used my account. I'm sure you'll all want to know why (like anyone actually cares)! It's simple, and stupid: I forgot my bloody password (and the e-mail account I was using). I went on a holiday and clean forgot. It took me two years to remember it (yeah, not funny). I don't plan on spending as much time on Gamespot as I did before, but I guess that as long as I don't have school I might hang around a bit. I might make a surprise appearance in unions where I was an officer (not any more though), and see if anyone remembers me...

New and Improved

I gave my blog post this title because it's what many companies use to market their products, yet it does not make muchsense. If something is new it can't be improved and vice versa. Anyways I've just written my second review, taking into account all the recommendations that I have recieved in my previous blog post. Could you please tell me if I've improved, and what I could still do better (nothing is ever perfect), I'm still open to all suggestions. Once again don't hesitate to recommend the review if you like it, and sorry if it's long but I had lots to say and I hope that you will find it was worth putting everything I wanted to say down.

My First Review on Gamespot

I've just reviewed Metroid Fusion, my favourite Metroid game of all time and favourite game on GBA. Could you please read the review (I know it's a bit long) and tell me what you think of it? Don't hesitate to recommend it if you like it. I'm open to any suggestions to make my next review much better.
