This is the first entry to COD I've been interested in since its WWII days of COD2. I suppose I like the disconnect of its future setting. Modern Warfare came off as a little too "hoo-ah!" for me.
Man, this one looks right up my alley. I'm a sucker for pirate themes. Too bad I got bored midway through Revelations and haven't played single player since. I have Assassin's Creed III because it came with my Ps3, but I've only ever played its multiplayer mode.
Think it's worth playing Black Flag even though I don't plan on playing through Rev and III's stories?
Wow, just watching the video review was super frustrating. You can just see how poorly the game controls and my OCD would kill me for missing those rings.
Curious. Games with similar pros/cons, that is, poor core mechanic (shooting) but fantastic art design tend to get a 6 or 7 if I recall correctly. A 4 doesn't really match up with his criticisms.
Even more, people seem to be arguing that the shooting mechanics were mediocre. Not terrible. Detracting that many points over a decent-but-flawed mechanic is odd. I can understand his criticisms of the game's story but also think that it's missing the point. The game may not take a position on the events within the world, but it gives the player most of the material needed to piece it together themselves. Granted, I had to read up on some of the science the game borrows its story from to understand their motivation behind certain scenes, but I enjoyed the extra reading.
@Chr0noid Do you really have to be an ass over something so simple? Can't find something more worthwhile to rage over?
I said the new design has allowed me to UPLOAD the avatars. That means they exist server-side. Considering I was never able to do that before, I thought it worth mentioning.
My avatar is stuck due to a glitch I encountered quite some time ago in an older design. It being stuck has nothing to do with the new design. I was expressing my optimism that it may allow me to finally fix it, eventually.
I really like the new potential that has come with the re-design. For one, yes, my avatar is still this generic Argonian that has glitched its way to being my permanent alias. However, this new design has finally allowed me to upload my custom avatars without a hitch. That's a first. The website no longer feels like it is a legacy forum and that's fantastic. Here's hoping that the functionality follows suit.
@Hellsing4682 I certainly agree with you. That was likely their thinking behind the change. It's just that, if they had to reshape her body in order to convey a different demeanor, I'm not sure the design is as efficient as it could have been.
@frylock1987 @Evanrocknuma @cmw43 Could you be any more of a sarcastic ass? Yes, I would consider Elizabeth a woman. If you had read my comments properly, you might have noticed that I was refuting the argument that she is "just a girl" in Infinite. I simply allowed for some room between the terms.
@cmw43 @Evanrocknuma That argument keeps getting used, but I don't yet see its merit (it could stand if the game proves it) but Levine already confirmed that the Elizabeth in this is "our" Elizabeth from Infinite. And as I said, she was 20 in Infinite. Not quite a woman but not exactly just a girl either. That, and we've seen no evidence that people's physical build changes when traveling between universes. **SPOILER** Booker and Comstock look different, but that's because they exist separately. I'd like to hear someone's thoughts on all this.
