Well of course you don't see yourself as a deviant since you're used to do this. If I'm a serial killer and I'm used to kill people all the time I wouldn't see myself as a deranged person at all. You can miss a few days of High School without it hurting your grades but if this trend follows you to College then it'll really start to hurt. Trust me I know some friends who were like you and skipped school at some times, now they're behind me by at least a year in studies. Every single kids will try to play the more mature and adult games, just like pretty much every boy would be curious and want to watch pornography as well. That's just our nature, we humans are curious and always want to experiment. But the laws at least help keep all of this at a limited level. If there was no rule for me not to watch violent movies or play mature games then I would have done that all the time without ever thinking of it as being any wrong to me. But with these laws and rules in place, kids are facing a wall everytime they want to do any of those stuff. Of course they'll try to climb that wall but parents and the law are there to keep surveillance on this wall and not let them climb it so soon.
I believe games can lead to violent behaviors when given to some people. Some people are deranged and if I gave them GTA 4 to play on a weekend I'm pretty sure that would fuel their passion for violence. Or it could jus as well settle them down. Kids will at some point play violent games, but the job of parents is to know when these kids are ready to do so, you can never prevent a kid from doing these things. All will come eventually.

Rev is actually right, its not the video games, its the people who play them. Its common Psychology and brain activity within the Sociopathic child... most likely the lack of attention when younger, lack of friends/activities, being made fun of, and other examples. Its not the video game, its outside influences that make the child feel pleased when killing people in a violent game (GTA), and then become infatuated with the feeling that the game doesn't please them no more, then find enjoyment in doing it in real life. Its a Pyschological subject, read a book muthaf***az!!...
