The 9600 is looking deeply promising at the minute....

Anyway, shadows and draw distances I usually find cause the most lag issues in games.
Also, check your character LOD distance with character draw distance, and make sure LOD is equal or lower. Im not sure about performance impact, but it sure doesn't make sense to have LOD higher.

Oh, and have more RAM.

This is kinda interesting, as I was going to post a topic asking peoples' advice on this matter.

Ive decided to replace my 7900GTX, and both the 8800GT and 9600GT are better, but the 9600 is about 30 quid (pounds - to the americans) cheaper on eBay.

Ive looked at the stats on nVidia's website, and, after ruling out an 8800GTS, I compared the two GTs.

An 8800 GT is equal or worse by the numbers in every column except for texture fill rate. So my question is, what should my priorities be? Clock speed, fill rate? Memory? If it's anything other than texture fill, I'd go 9600.

My 60gb HDD is getting a bit full now, which is going to be a major problemo when Age of Conan comes out, so I was thinking about putting another one in, just for games storage.

My question is, how? (Im using XP by the way).

Do I just connect the two together? Or do I need to put XP on the other one as well? Will it conflict? Will I need more RAM? Do they have to be the same make of HDD?

i havent played it yet but every pic and vid ive seen shows me the worst graphics ive seen on the 360 so far! graphics dont make the game fun of course, but wow it looks ugly!

The graphics aren't totally brilliant in terms of textures, but the lighting is beyond belief, night time feels perfect and the cars are so shiny and detailed it's unbelieveable. They really put the delicious stuff in the detail, not in the overall shine. Only quip I have with animations so far is that Niko leans when he turns!

Im not a GTA fanboy, in fact, Im not a huge fan of the series at all, I managed LCS and Im doing VCS, but by god, GTA 4 is good. It ditches the awful shooter model, dated graphics and semi-coherent writing that's plagued the series for ages. It deserves its perfect.

Hey, I brought an LG monitor/TV, it's about 19", not sure of the model number exactly, but there's a problem.

I have a 7900GTX, and it came with an S-Video attachment for the card. This attachment allowed me to plug component cables into the back of this S-Vid attachment (so that it could then go in the back of the card), and then into the back of the TV.

My problem is that a lot of webpages, and some fonts on games are colliding/out of sync/totally unreadable. Take Hotmail, for example, it's totally illegible unless I set it to ignore font sizes on webpages.

Also, when I start a game, it sets my desktop to it's own resolution, and I cant always select the right one. It seems to be a disagreement between Control Panel, nView and the game.
Trying to resize the desktop also leaves with with massively obscure resolutions, unselectable in games.

So...any advice on;
A) How to set this up properly?
B) How to fix it?

Hey, I was wondering if anybody could help with a small problem. My sister's DS has developed this issue where you need to place the stylus an inch or two to the right of whatever it is you need to select.

Ive tried the calibration function from the DS menu but it doesn't work, as the pressing the dots goes on forever and ever and ever if you press them in the middle, and it's very difficult to try and do it with the offset stylus; which would offset the stylus more anyway.

Any help?
