With all the cost cutting measures they've been doing lately due to the Wii U's weak sales (scrapping Club Nintendo, Amiibos, New 3DS has no AC adapter), I don't see Nintendo doing putting money into an R&D project to redesign the last gen controller.

@SolidTy You just aren't thinking fourth-dimensionally. New Wii Remotes means new things for people to buy. If Wii U games are going on the eShop at discount prices, demand for Wii Remotes would go up. This came up because my old white Wii Remotes don't match my black Wii U so I'm considering buying a couple new black ones.

I didn't say that I was against the idea, I simply said I don't think Nintendo will do it and listed the reasons why.

Then there is the problem of supporting the new controller with new games...I don't see the software changing even if they took the time to spend money making new controllers because the games were designed around the old Wiimotes.

Yeah, even the Gampad is not getting enough specialized treatment. A Wiimote redesign is not even sensible at this point.

Unfortunately I have not even played this game yet. With all the releases after, including Toad Trackers that hasn't been purchased yet by me, it's hard to complete all these games without having a bunch of free time to play them, much less 100% complete them. Some of us have work and/or social lives to complete first! :)

The nuances of Wii Motion Plus control are beyond those of modern simple-minded analog control gamers.

I would seriously leave console gaming completely. PC gaming has been great thus far. Nintendo is the only company with the vision and possibly balls to think outside the more power despite falling completely behind PC specs vision of gaming in the future is concerned. The PS4/XBoxOne future is weak, both vision wise and spec wise with nothing to add as far as interaction. Nintendo games are magic incarnate. Gamers that don't recognize this are beyond that of true gaming respect.

My Wii U is standing literally next to my router

This is why some of us don't use wired connection. I do still have an ethernet adapter I used for the Wii, but Wi-Fi is arranged in another room which makes wired connections not ideal. Besides, wireless works fine.

I'm agreeing with the GS review, one of the best fighting games ever made. I'm glad the pace is faster than Brawl and tripping got tossed. Games like Smash are the reason I still consider myself a gamer.

Nice touch but it's certainly not what I'd call a cutting edge feature.

The devil is in the details, or so the old saying goes. Nintendo really crafts their games with several factors in mind. It's what makes their games so special.

It's hard to be disappointed with the Wii U after this years releases. The alternative is FPS galore.

It's solid. I have better feel of the controls with the Wii Classic controller TBH. The analog sticks on the classic are higher than the Wii U Pro, which makes medium standard attacks easier to pull off.

They really shouldn't half-ass the single player experience. Multi-player should be secondary. That's why games like Crystal Chronicles for the NGC are forgotten in FF cannon.
