...What does he mean by "Fewer battles" and "Reducing Micromanagement" and focusing on reinforcing units and such? I cant describe my level excitement for ANYTHING total war, and hearing this guys words are seriously killing me, If they ruin this series... I will be giving up on strategy games.
Should be easy enough to just worry about the graphics according to Lamia due to the fact that the game is going to be roughly the same with how ever many nukes yields the most explosions for excitement. Im not saying im biased towards any certain game but this series needs to just die, I despise it. Honestly activision, you want my respect? Stop dumbing down your PC ports and remake the first Call of Duty, not modern warfare, not black ops, just Call of Duty.
Your the reason that all the people who actually support developers by purchasing games gets smacked in the face with DRM's and other nonsense on the PC. I wouldnt care to be honest if it was an EA game, but this is just poor judgement. You should feel ashamed to call yourself a gamer, your just a thief.
Really upset with blizzard. Its nice that the feature wont be in the hardcore mode, but just to think in general that in terms of video games as a whole this could have massive rammifications. I used to have respect for blizzard awhile ago during their almost 10 year absence of any starcraft/diablo game, but when starcraft came out and it was the same exact thing, and then on top of that they said in an article that they made it just for korean E gaming, I died a bit inside. Than them partnering with Activision? THAN this auction house thing? I have very little to no respect for them. Its not even so much that their games NEVER change (except for graphics and a few new features) but its more so their marketing strategies and buisiness model, they have turned into a greedy company that doesnt respect its players as much as it used to. Just my opinion on the matter.
I intend to play hardcore... on my second playthrough. Doing this through my first run would be moronic, I have no idea how my class will react and if its the right choice to begin with, and than if I screw up a few times (Face it, a brand new game that I havent played anything like it in years is going to feel weird for a few hours) and be faced with perma death is a recipe for boredom. Yes its a challenge, but its meant for the masters of the game, how can you be a master of something new to you?
I think people are forgetting a couple of things...
First: I started when this game had almost no features. I didnt know that creative mode exsisted. All the newer features that are in PC are actually ruining the game to be honest as its taking the factor that made minecraft so popular down the drain: Simplicity.
Second: Even in minecrafts lowest, un patched form its an amazing game. Its being offered for 20 dollars on the 360 while the PC is 27 dollars. Thats NOTHING compared to the 64.19 you pay for a supposdly "Full" game that will never truely be updated and gets stale in 10 hours, minecraft literaly lasts forever, even if its on and off your going to always come back, for whatever reason.
Third: Its most likely going to be patched. It seems as if the PC version is patched so frequently that I cannot keep up with them sometimes. Theres no reason for Notch to release something just to tarnish his reputation, when in reality theres nothing wrong with the game to begin with its the feeling of entitlement when basically everything is there.
Honestly if your STILL feeling like youve gotten scammed or something (which is absurd this game should easily be tripple the price) than just get the PC version for a few dollars more. You have to have an extremely piece of garbage system and should upgrade it immedietly if you cannot even run minecraft with the lowest settings and FOV. Just my two cents.
Be careful where you get your facts man, fo somebody who didnt know the whole story behind the 1 year thing that could freak them out. They promise you ONE YEAR of being able to play, and than after that they CAN cancel the internet access, I.e. with older games. They never do for a few years its just to cover their butts, and basically this just means they take the multi away from really old EA games. And the DRM is horrible its been on every EA game for awhile now, I for one completely hate EA as well.
When a new game comes out I make sure I have the Physical copy, I only pick up the CD's at the sides (I still have CD's from years ago with not even a spec of dust on them) I try to keep the books safe, as well as the covers. I only spring for the limited editions when it adds something specific to the game (even though lately most limited editions are only limited by how long they wait to make it a DLC pack)but all in all, thats just me. If I find it on sale in steam a few months or years later, and its at such a low price that you cant ignore, ill pick it up there. Thats just how I see it. I think both will play a huge part even way down the line, BUT, the online distributer will be owned by its parent retailer (Probably called something else than the retailer) Steam is safe. Gamestop, not sure yet, Impulse always kinda sucked, and you can seriously forget about support (although that was before Gamestop took over). I can tell everybody right now Origin will suck. Still feel terrible that im getting BF3, but im getting it for benchmarking mostly, even if Origin is filled with bloatware. Either way, if a retailer has the best of both worlds, theoreticaly they should be at least safe (Steam being the main exception, it would be awesome to see a Steam store but when their main platform is selling digitally I cant picture that lol)
@Tripwolf While they share the building aspect, they arent even next to each other in terms of genre. Terraria is a combat focused game, while Minecraft goes more towards building/collecting. While I love both games, and have great respect for each, it would be like saying the Battlefield series is better then the Need for speed series lol.
