My college is the opposite, overly hot in every room. Come winter though, it'll be freezing. Don't which is worse. mine is cold...in every single room. =(
I'd write at least a pilot episode first, but for music I'd say check out some stuff from the band Athlete or Silversun Pickups (though Athlete may fit more).

Like a teen drama. high school, and stuff like that. like...for example, damsons creek, or one tree hill. Some shows like this I know get under alot of people's skin. :P but they have heir reasons.
