Guys, can we not derail the thread with petty arguments? Please?
Soo back on topic?
Intel E8600 3.33GHz Core 2 Duo
Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R motherboard
GeForce 9800 GTX OC2 512MB GDDR3
2x CORSAIR 2GB RAM DDR3
500GB SATA Harddrive
550w Power Supply
Basic sound card and two speakers (don't care much about sound quality)
Samsung 19" Widescreen Monitor
Computer case I haven't picked out yet..
This is what i've decided on, what do you think? Any comments or changes to the list are welcome.
When I said before about £1000 being my price range, that still holds true, but i've found that a PC like this ^ is fine for my needs and i'll still have money left over to spend on other worthwhile things. But i'm no expert so I dont really know if this will play games how I want them to play...

If this is good could you guys help me find a good power supply and motherboard that will work with these?
Thanks for your help rikjiallen - going to take everyones answer into consideration.
What do you care about more GPU or CPU?f-a-d-3
Umm I don't know. haha.. Whatever makes the games play better :)
Hmm i'd say about £1000 budget.
And yeah as for the above ^ I dont need to be doing things like that, just whatever is best for gaming.
Would you provide links to these things too? I'm not lazy, but when I look I always seem to find lots of different makes and I get confused and never know which is which. :/ I'm just so dumb when it comes to hardware.
Thanks if you can.
So i'm getting a new PC, but i'm not really up to date with what is the best thing to buy right now. I don't really care about the hardware stuff, so I try to get other people to do that for me so I can just play the games on it.:P So I was hoping you guys could help me with that. Someone else is building it for me and i'm just finding parts.
I want something that can play any game out right now on highest settings in a high resolution. I'm happy when a game plays at about 30fps or above - so I just need something that can achieve that.
Also, lets exclude Crysis from the list of "all games" as i've heard its unplayable on highest settings even on the best computer - (Not certain if thats actually true though?)
Thanks for any help.
