So like many people here, I was overjoyed with the thought of returning to Halo 2 mp with a face lift. I have extremely fond memories of Halo CE and Halo 2 LANs with my friends in high school. I played an un-healthy amount of Halo 2 online. I mean, in high school/early college, if it wasn't football/baseball season, that was every afternoon and evening. I would have considered myself a slightly above average casual player. The same goes for Reach/4. My K/Ds in those games were in the 1.5 range for team slayer and 1.7 for objective games. Not great, but definitely not terrible.

I am having a really, really....really hard time adjusting to H2 anniversary. I'm just under an even spread, which for a competitive guy that likes to do well and win, is a hard pill to swallow. With all of the issues the mp has had, i've only been able to play about 20ish matches or so, but I'm still having trouble breaking through. Just for an experiment, I jumped into H4 a few days ago, having not played in 5 or 6 months. I had a couple of serviceable games, then dominated 3 or 4 games in a row. It was like I never stopped.

Anybody else going through this? Is the AA/bullet magnetism that much more in reach/4? I did well in original H2 mp, which is why this is perplexing to me. Any suggestions besides just pushing through the suck to get back to that barrier?

MS should have made the HDD removable....because I don't understand how you wouldn't be able to offer both options if you made it easy to remove. They did it with the xbox 360.

One that can play 360 and original Xbox games. Why is that too much to ask?

I personally think that MS should have invested in emulating the xbox 360 (because the lack of backwards compatibility is what's keeping many of my friends and family from purchasing a new console). I'm guessing that the architecture of the XB1 is so different that it would cost too much to emulate the games.

Yeah, the architecture between the 2 is completely different. You either have to have hardware that can emulate, use resources on software that does it in the OS, or what is probably going to end up happening, is streaming original xbox and xbox 360 content.

I don't see the big deal, though. I still own my 360, and it's plugged in right next to my xone. It's not like it eats up tons of space, power, etc.

Hello All!

Has the patch to fix 360 specific issues(Corrupted game saves, freezing/crashing) been released yet? I stopped playing the game 3 weeks ago because of all the issues, and didn't want to risk loosing my save after having multiple friends loose theirs.

Its a level system. You level up by experience. Starting from level 1. You earn bonuses as you progress. Kinda of like call of duty.

CPM_basic

This mentality is so lame. It's like "everyone wins! We're all winners!". Just because someone plays the game a lot, it could still mean he sucks. The old leveling system in Halo was cut throat. Once you started getting past level 45 you better be good.

They are implementing a 1-50 ranking system post launch. They evidently wanted to gather enough data for a couple of months to decide how best to do it, map rotations, etc

If you are only concerned with single player, I would probably start with Combat Evolved. You can get the remake pretty cheap. Then work your way up from there. Halo 4 is a stand alone title, and the start of a new trilogy, but there are going to be some things you won't understand/appreciate unless you start at the beginning.

Thanks. I bought an 830 samsng. With the 840 just coming out there seems to be some really great deals on the 830's around. My HDD has actually stopped working now. Im using an old laptop :(. Windows 7 wont load. I hope I can still retrieve all the stuff off the drive when the new SSD is the main drive later this week.bonafidetk

You may be able to if you have a sata to usb connector/drive enclosure, since you won't have to worry about loading the OS, or you can try some sort of mini OS like the one built into Hiren's. Download the ISO and burn to a disk and then boot to that. If it lets you in, you should be able to grab all of your Documents and drop them on a drive.

Yeah, just happened again. At first I thought it was my internet, but I did a speed test, and I'm getting 9ms ping, 5.5 down and ~1 up, so it's not great, but more than enough, or should be more than enough to play online smoothly.

Jazz559

This in no way, shape, or form rules out intermitted sync.

Meaning that it could very well be your internet connection. If your connection drops completely, but only for about 10-20 seconds, then it will kick you. This would also not affect your speed very much except for when it is down, there would be no speed.

If you live in the States, Comcast was having major trouble this and last week, almost nation wide because of the storms (I am guessing)

We have been having intermitted sync for about a week, and a half now. Sometimes down for hours, sometimes down for 20-30 seconds.

THANK YOU!

I was hoping someone would come out and say this. Speedtest is in no way, shape, or form a troubleshooting method for connectivity issues. I'd make sure Windows firewall is turned completely off and that you have the latest router firmware before you go blaming Diablo servers...especially since you appear to be the only one with the issue.

After I decided to give up yesterday, I ran a continuous ping for 5000 packets and dropped 4. No issues playing any other online games. Ended up playing some Reach yesterday, and My friend plays a crap ton of starcraft/rift and he had no trouble yesterday. The first thing I do when I install windows is install a different browser, perform updates, and turn off that damn firewall. I have a hardware firewall (sonicwall) at home. I don't think it was my internet. Not sure what it was, working fine today, but please don't take me for some kind of scrub.
