I can't believe that there weren't hardware price drops already this summer. I will be amazed if there isn't a drop by Christmas, though, to boost those sales. I also wish Sleeping Dogs would have done better, but I bet it did pretty well on PC via digital distribution. These lists are increasingly misleading with the high number of PC gamers that choose digital distribution. New consoles may give more meaning to these charts, though, if it brings people away from PCs (not me, though...)

@-HaloHitman- Maybe not "whatever," but I do agree with you on this specific example. :)

@cdog21 It's definitely not impossible, but he released an album a year for 5 years, not an album a month, which is different. And while he may have been able to write a song in an hour, that doesn't mean he could do that for 8 hours straight. Plus, there is a difference in the type of music genre and the goal of the music. I would argue genres of games could be viewed the same way. The idea of Team Meat (for example) putting out a new platformer every single year is much easier to imagine than something as huge as AC.Also, I'm just going to be totally honest, I don't like Tupac's music, so I'm not going to speak about quality at all. I'm not qualified. :)I will just say, though, that if an artist is trying to create something "new" and push their limits, they cannot rush through something. That's why it takes many musicians several years to release albums. If you forced them into a studio for a month, I guarantee they could come up with something. They just may not be happy with it, in the end.P.S. I am a musician. I'm not professional or making money from it, but I have written a lot of songs with several bands and recorded albums.

If Radiohead put out an album every month, the quality would be awful after only a handful (forcing artists to create is not the way to get good art or products), and people would get sick of them (or at least stop caring and spending their money on every CD). That analogy does not support Mr. Hutchinson's argument at all.

If they would have released Red Dead on PC, they would have had an even better year. ;) I'm excited to play Max Payne 3 on PC, though!

I played Dragon Age Journeys and really liked it, but when Legends came out, it just didn't have the same appeal. Hopefully the single-player Legends is more like Journeys. I just don't like all the trappings they put into Legends to make it a Facebook game (time delay mechanics, social junk, etc.).

I agree that vendor exclusives are getting out of hand, because it withholds things from people that buy the game just because they pick one vendor over another. However, pre-orders say the same thing that first day purchases say. The last paragraph could be applied to first day purchases as well. And while I personally understand the reason some people wait to buy games at a discount, that does not support developers like full-price purchases do. So, if pre-orders are giving developers more money, then I am puzzled as to why anyone in the industry would have a problem with that. If it's because of the vendor exclusives or other exclusives, that's one thing, and that thing should be clearly pointed out. Also, while I do not believe this editor is condemning pre-orders just because he wants people to read his reviews first, I do think that is something other people could think, which is definitely not a good thing...
