I dont think they ever intended to loose anything. I just think Blu-Ray is a logical next step in the evoloution of video games and I think Sony was smart to recognize this early. Maybe they introduced it a tad bit too early to the market, who knows. Only time will tell that for sure. As far as the technology is concerened I think it gives them a competitive edge. Im sure they knew what they might be faced with, but the same goes for the introduction of any new hardware or technology I think.The fact is that not many people are knowledgeable in the area of HD entertainment and Blu-Ray is foreign to them. Once they see though I think the technology will sell it self. HD is now just starting to become mainstreme and with that I think the PS3 will do so more and more as well. I dont think its actually a matter of loosing fans because of the technology I think any Playstation fan would like to own a PS3. I think the price tag is more the issue. I know plenty of people who went the 360 route because of price, but want a PS3 and they just cant afford it. Though they plan on getting it. I recently bought one. I would have had it at launch were it not for the price. To the average person who doesnt know about blu-ray or Hd they just see it as a overpriced video game system and cant understand why it costs more than a 360. Like I said though with more and more people being introduced and understanding HD and stuffpeople will understand the cost as well I think. So like I said I dont think its the technology of blu-ray persay, but the cost and people being un-educated in the matter. Im sure this decision will prove benneficial to Sony in the end.

I recently purchased one. Friday Afternoon to be exact. I had planned on owning one for awhile, but the only thing that was holding me back was price tag. I must say it was definately worth it. From the shiny sexy design to the power under the hood. The system is truly what next gen should be in terms of hardware. The console compliments my HD very well and gives me the true HD experience that I want out of it. While right now I'd say the line up is pretty good, there are alot of must haves in my opinion that are just around the corner that justify every penny in my opinion. The playstation 3 is definately a must have in my book and I'd recommend that to anyone. This coming from someone who is very into Xbox/360 and was never too much into the Playstations of the past with the exception of a few titles here and there. As for fav game right now I'd say Motor Storm or F1. Resistance is pretty good too as are a bunch of others. Definately, you owe it too yourself to invest in a PS3 in the near future.

You thought PGR3 looked better? You do realize those garage shots aren't gameplay? Because that's the only thing in that game where the cars look better then in Forza 2. Forza 2 is just purely visually better then PGR3, at least from what I see of it. And if I'm not mistaken, PGR3 was actually an original Xbox game that was switched to the Xbox 360.FearlessSpirit

Maybe you dont have an hd, but look at both in hd nd you'll see man. Forza looks good but PGr3 is better looking. I didnt really like PGr3 too much. I loved 2 on Xbox. I didnt think 3 was as fun.  I loved forza 1 and will love the second im sure.

I downloaded this demo the first day it released, but I havent had the chance to really sit down and disect it a bit until now.

Gameplay: I enjoy it a lot. In my opnion the cars handle a lot better and arent as stiff. Fells more like a sim to me. (one thing I cant stand about the other simulator out there "Gran Tourismo", the cars dont feel realistic. Granted I havent driven every car in the game and cant speak on every car, but two things in general. 1. cars dont look like there doing 20 when they are doing 80 as I find is the case with the GT games. sense of speed kind of sucks. and while it wasnt the best on the first Forza I think it was pretty good and felt accurate enough. 2. cars do not start screeching tires when you make a wide (not sharp) turn at, lets say 15mph. ) I really liked the handling and sense of speed that this game has. I think its a great improvement from the first Forza. I'd give the gameplay a 9.

 Graphics: I found the games lighting to be amazing simply put. Cars models were pretty good, though they didnt blow me away like I had expected them too. PGr 3's car models wowed me more. Not sure which has better models. Maybe Forza's are on par, but since it wasnt a new experience as far as graphics they didnt wow me. Aspault and scenery looked pretty good, but I've seen much better out of a racing game. Namely GT4 and GTHD. Those two have some incredible sceneray.  Another thing I had hoped for was 1080 support. 720  is ok but with GT4 on ps2 supporting 1080i I  think there is no excuse. Overall it looks good, but I just felt that is was missing that wow factor that I expected from a next gen racing title let alone Forza. I know its a demo and the final build could perhaps look better, but with the release later this month I dont expect it too. I'd give the graphics an 8.

 Sound: Excellent is all I have to say.

All in all if I had to rate the demo Id say its a solid 9 and I think the final game will fall somewhere near that.

I think it would be cool to hear everyone elses thoughts on the demo.

Im the proud new owner of a ps3(60gb). I also own a 360. I bought the Hd cables and Motorstorm. If anyone plays Motor Storm online hit me up with a friend request on the ps3. My name is Farse. if anyone has 360 my gt is Farse or Robb Knight. I'll be on the ps3 later tonight. If anyone sends a friend request attach a message saying that your from GS so that I wont think its random. Also state you GS username so that I know who you are. I havent yet had the chance to et a usb headset, but i plan too tonight or later this week. I do have a headset and camera for 360 though. Anyways I mut say that I was pleasently surprised with the PS3. As a system I'd say its much better than than 360 as far as hardware goes, but as of right now im a bigger 360 fan for the game selection. I look foward to getting more ames and using the PS3 more and more, I dont doubt that it might become my prefered console of choice eventually with games like Heavenly sword and MGS4 on the horizon.

I guess Im lucky and so is everyone I know. Most people I know that have 360's have had them since launch with no problems. I've never had a defective console or had any console really give me trouble. I hate hearing about people who have problems with console. 90% of the time when i've see the console that is giving them problems its because of mis treatment. Im not saying thats the case with anyone hear, but for some of you just take better care of your stuff and reliability wont be a problem.

Wassup ppl. Anyone up for some solid fun competitive custom Halo 2 games. I still enjoy the game. I mostly play custom now. I've grown irritated in match making as there is just way to much bull... you know what going on. I cant stand super jumping, doublehot,xbr's, or modding. Its not that I dont know how to do the stuff ( I do, choose not too) I just find it cheap. Im in too clean straight foward competitive matches. Despite all that crap I still do fairly good in matchmaking. 85-95% of my losses on that come from cheaters. So if anyone is interested in custom games just send me a friend request. XBL gamertag: Robb Knight. Im usually on late night on week days cuz I work. Infact I'd be on right now if I wasnt waiting for my relief to show up so I could go home. I should be on in about an hour or so if anyone is interested. If your not interested tonight, but some other time still throw a request my way and we'll get it going another day. If you send me a request tho, send a message letting me know your from gs and not some random stalker. P.S. hope the matchmaking update freshes up the matchmaking a bit.

[QUOTE="jfkunrendered"]

[QUOTE="Recon13"][QUOTE="miguelpaco"]good luck finding oneRecon13

Are you kidding?? I can find an Elite in any store I walk into in my local area.. Best buy had 14 of them, Target 6, Walmart 4.. Easy to find in NY..

Not sure where you live, but where I live (Augusta Georgia) I cant find one anywhere. Its crazy.

Kingston NY here.. I've seen tons of them..  Circuit City's website has them right now if your looking. But I haven't had any problems seeing them..

Wow your pretty close to me. Im in Newburgh and work in Poughkipsie. Yeah They are relatively easy to find. I already own a 360 so I wont be getting one........yet. As for game I own all three of those. Single player, although short Gears was most fun. I dont care too much for its online other than co-op which I love. Splinter cell campaign is good, didnt much play online. RS6 Vegas campaign was great and out of the three easily my favorite multiplayer of the three.

The 360 implies evrything coming together in a "circle" being interconnected with the whole live service and stuff. I think thats what they said when they first anounced the name.
