That is an honest answer. Even the viewers of Child Pornography are scumbags. It's sick and disgusting and should be punished. No, it is not. Because possessing it is not actually exploiting kids and making money off of their suffering, I don't see the big deal. Punishment is based off of how you harm another human. Yes, pedophiles who actually have sex with or molest children should be punished, because they are actually causing harm, but if you just discretely have images, it dosn't affect anyone. You say it is disgusting, but that is your opinion. I think it is disgusting as well, but why should that affect other people? The idea of two men having sex disgusts me, but do I think homosexuality should be outlawed? Of course not.
regardless of whether or not you think it is exploiting them, the fact remains possessing child porn means you are possessing sexual images of the children against their will, which is probably some sort of violation of privacy. If you were one of these kids would you be content with some sicko getting off to your pain? I don't think so.
