The Wii can run any shaders the XBOX could, the diference is that the XBOX used dx which made everything alot easier since it was PC based. You can achieve that on the Wii by working around or "emulating" if you will to achieve the same exact thing.
Its all a matter of APIs, the XBOX used a standard API while the Wii uses an exclusive one which forces developers to achieve those standard shaders by other means.

Ah the hidden power and everything only being dependent on developer input. I won't believe it, until I see it. The proof is in the pudding so to speak.
No it isnt, the Wii is more powerfull than the Xbox, even in the shader department. The diference was that the XBOX had them pre-made and ready to go, and it was based on PC architecture/software (directX), while on the Wii you have to build them from scratch and make them work in its unique software, its up to the devs to not be lazy and do it.

The Wii doesn't have proper shaders at all, it has the TEV which you could sort-of consider to be a primitive pixel shader. Xbox GPU had full DX8.1 level vertex and pixel shaders.

[QUOTE="killerfist"] lol IDK man..the Wii and xbox have similar specs right? I don't remember spiderman looking that bad on the xbox.Hoobinator
One of the biggest difference between the Wii and Xbox 1 is that the Xbox possesses more shading power. It's one of the single reasons why a game like Doom 3 or Riddick hasn't been done on the Wii yet. It's laughable but the shader technology in the Xbox is more advanced.

Wow. I really did think that people were joking about this game being good.
Sure it might be entertaining, but this game really does look generic, and it's not going to get AA. Now Madworld actually looks like a title worth hyping. IMO
that spiderman pic, is that from spiderman 3 or web of shadows? if i recall correctly, spiderman 2 on the gamecube looked way better than that.redmetal86
I think its from Spiderman 3, the game was intentionally made bad to reflect the movie its based on
