Gears 1: ground-breaking gameplay and graphics, creepy and memorable soundtrack, fun/challenging online, dark, horror sci-fi shooter, with a campaign that left some intriguing questions.
Gears 2: a downgrade artistically (cartoony/colourful), clunky/slowed down movements, online was no where near as fun as Gears 1 (especially at first without the 6 title updates, terrible servers and ranking system), campaign was sweet but hindered by the bad points previously mentioned, soundtrack not as memorable, cut scenes lazy/visually un-impressive in comparison to the first Gears (Kim and Raam scene one of the best cut scenes ever in a video game in my opinion.
Gears 3: great physics - movement felt really nice, pretty terrible story-wise, artistically even more cartoony than 2, graphics awesome, online ran pretty smoothly and was fun but was hindered by the overpowered sawd off, retro lancer, and ink, preferred locust to lambent.
Gears J: terrible cash cow piece of shit that's ruined Gears for me.
@Thumbler76 @Ferg1213 This whole game makes me cringe. I hope EPIC, PCF, and Microsoft are crying at how poor this franchise has become. Then maybe they'll look at Gears 1 and go "Hey, that was a fucking good game, why don't we just stick to the fucking roots next time and stop turning our games in to trash." Rant over haha.
@Thumbler76 @Ferg1213 Rod Fergusson and Mike Capps don't forget! As well as a few other non-famous EPIC employees. Someones clearly pushing EPIC (Micro$oft) to produce more Gears of War when they know it should have ended (at least for a long while) with Gears 3. Just my opinion though.
