We're seeing some great developments here in the world of gaming. Oblivion looks great, Medieval 2: TW is going to elevate rts gaming to it's next level and UT2K7 might actually approach the amazing quality the original UT had. But at the same time we see weak exploitations appearing everywhere.
Now I personally hate GTA, it has awefull graphics, the detail level is amazingly low and I hate the entire attitude and gameplay and this is where developers disappoint me the most, making blatant rip-offs of such things as the Godfather, Family guy and even Simpsons in GTA style while nothing remains of what the movies/series stand for.
That accompanied with the awefull "rapper" games, i.e. 50 cent bulletproof, that game about d12 which was even worse and the 2nd true crime seem to be steering the gaming scene towards pop culture, all in the name of making money.
These new "gamers" then go about bashing the great old and new games that are *old skool* such as Doom 3, Quake (3/4), warcraft, Unreal (T) series etc.. And even bring down such games as the upcoming M2TW and Oblivion.
Furthermore for me graphics ARE an important factor and I can hardly wait to buy a dx10 compatible videocard and try out the upcoming great looking games but if such games as True Crime: New York city get good reviews by these new gen (not next gen) players the market is soon going to realise it's better business to just make crappy games like those rather than spending 3-4 years or more on near-perfect games like UT, Oblivion, Rome: TW, RE 4, HL2 and GoW.
I can't wait to wrap my hands around the all new improved Shockrifle. Mike Caps: "Even getting owned will be fun."

My Reviews
by Feyre on Comments
It seems like my reviews are getting some pretty positive feedback and quite a few recomendations, I guess the my review system works. Strike San Andreas of course, when you give a bad review to a popular game like that you're bound to get people angry. Thous it seems some idiot gave alot of positive reviews of FEAR bad feedback, same for Doom 3 including mine (fear's now on 3/4). For each games there are haters, kind off ironic as I 'dissed' San Andreas.
Also on a memorable note, for Gamespot FEAR is now the nr.1 game for pc, and 5th for overall (quite possibly because of the 1.03 patch). The game had a bumpy start (it got good reviews but not many buyers) I hope this means the community will grow.

Gothic 3
by Feyre on Comments
So, the Gothic 3 release date is now set to september 2006. After all this long waiting we're going to have to wait even longer, that's 8 months after the initial set release date. It's HL 2 all over again. It'd better be worth it when it's finally released. I think they're making a mistake too. Many potential Gothic 3 gamers might now revert to oblivion or other fantasy RPG games. But I'll stick to the Gothic series, it's just the atmosphere that's so fantastic, that no other game can reproduce.
Call of Cthulu

Only twenty more days untill Call of Cthulu hits the stores for pc. I'm usually not really into console focused games but I have always regreted Call of Cthulu was only published for the xbox. I'll probably buy this game once it hits the stores, I can't wait. The xbox version had some dated visuals and some bugs, but 2k games has spend a LOT of time porting this game to the PC, so I'm confident most issues will be resolved, as well as the graphics updated. Personally I don't mind it if it has a bug now and again, but graphics are important to me, I don't want to play it if it noticably looks as an xbox game. So I won't preorder, it's gonna be up to the reviews and posibly demo?
The Godfather

So I just read the preview for the Godfather and I must say it looks good so far, I can only hope the game itself will hold true to the movies and will not lose itself in "gta" style gameplay and atmosphere. I can only hope the game will be very realistic and that there will be plenty of melee fighting and "pianowire" kills.
I guess we'll just see the fourteenth.
