When I was in Maryland, my source of anime was Toonami.
When I moved back to India, for a while I wasn't able to watch any new Anime because Cartoonnetwork here is way behind the Cartoonnetwork in America and most of the shows are in Hindi (which I don't know).
A few months back, I found a new source to watch Anime from in the form of Animax.
It is a great network because they show Anime 24/7.
Anyhow, this channel was new and there were several changes in the channels that our cable operator was providing us.
One of them was Animax. One day as I was channel surfing, I happened to stumble upon it. It was great and I became instantly (and I mean instantly) hooked.
Getting Animax and being able to watch Get Backers, Inu Yasha, Samurai X (also known as Rurouni Kenshin (not sure about spelling)), and the first Gundam series was great, but like I said, there were changes occuring in our cable. I had Animax for a few months and then one fine day (really night at about 9:37 p.m. I believe), as I was watching Inu Yasha (one of my favorite Anime), the channel just went blank. This had happened more than once before, so I just waited and checked the other channels just in case Animax got switched to another channel. I waited and I waited and I waited some more. But to avail.
So I asked my mom to ask the our cable operator if we could get Animax back. Unfortunately, our cable operator isn't a very good one and is usually unavailable. So I waited for what seemed like ages (a few weeks, maybe even a month) and then he finally came to collect his pay.
I was at school so I heard this from my mom. He came and my mom asked him if we could get Animax back and he said no. It's most probably because not enough people care to watch it here, at least where I live. The kids here are super concerned about studies (I am too) and their parents don't let them watch TV or even have a TV in their home (lucky for me I have great parents who don't force studies down my throat).
Anyway, to sum it all up, just as I was beginning to watch Anime (and actually understand the difference from normal cartoons), it was taken away from me in a split second.
Whew.
Talking about that in this journal really helped.
