- Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV have sold 609,000 copies in UK on the first day, broke the record held by GTA: San Andreas for PS2 on October 29, 2004, which sold 501,000 copies. The Xbox 360 version sold 335,000 copies (55%), while the PS3 version sold 274,000 copies (45%).
- Square Enix will release Front Mission 2089: Borders of Madness for NDS in Japan on May 29, 2008, for 5040 yen. The game is a port of the mobile phone game Front Mission 2089, which renewed character designs, stage maps, battle scenes and effects.....
- After numerous delays, Koei announced Fatal Inertia EX will be coming to PlayStation Network as a downloadable game in May 2008, for $29.99, the game will no longer released on Blu-ray. Fatal Inertia EX will have new features like weather effects, a training environment, more racecraft customization options. The vehicles will also run faster, have better handling and controls.

- Koei confirmed that Fatal Inertia EX will not be released on Xbox Live Arcade, despite the game is coming to PSN.
- Microsoft has cut the price of Xbox 360 in four Asian markets:
Hong Kong - HKD$2,499, 11% reduction
Taiwan - NT$10,360 (US$340), 17% reduction
Singapore - SGD$499 (US$366), 20% reduction
South Korea - KRW$369,000 (US$369), 5% reduction
- Atlus will release the US version of Spectral Force 3 for Xbox 360 on May 27, 2008.
- Microsoft announced the exclusive episode downloads for Grand Theft Auto IV will be coming in Autumn 2008.
- Crytek announced their game software will no longer be PC exclusive, the reason is the high rate of pirated products on PC. Crytek president Cevat Yerli said PC users who copy games are destroying the platform. In comparison, games on console would sell 4 - 5 times better.
- Rockstar Games reported that both Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV may crash. For PS3 crashes primarily on the early 60GB model; for Xbox 360 crashes occur on all the models. If the PS3 version does crash, simply reinstall the game to fix the problem.
- Activision confirmed that in future Aerosmith's songs will be available exclusively in Guitar Hero, and not in Rock Band. Aerosmith's "Train Kept a Rollin" appeared in Rock Band, but it should be the only exception.

Nintendo announced its company's net sales for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2008 were 1672 trillion yen (US$16.2 billion), up by 73%; the net income was 257 billion yen (US$2.5 billion), up by 47%. The Wii console sold 18.61 million units worldwide during last fiscal year, Nintendo expects to sell another 25 million units worldwide this year. The key success titles are Wii Fit (1.85 million), Super Smash Bros. Brawl (4.85 millions), Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Party 8.
- Nintendo DS has sold 30 million units worldwide last year, with a total of 70 million units. There are 57 NDS titles which sold over million copies worldwide; key success titles are Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Brain Training and Mario Party DS.
- 1up reported that the pirated copy of Xbox 360 Grand Theft Auto IV has been released in torrent sites for download, a couple of days ahead of the release date. Current only the PAL version is available.
- Square Enix has registered "Hand of the Heavenly Bride" for patent protection in US on April 16, 2008, which seems to be the title or subtitle of a game.
- Bandai Namco confirmed that a new Splatter House game is under development, the series was created in 1988 by Namco.
