everyday life. Just because someone's a "grown man" doesn't give them any more credibiltiy than you or I.VanHalun040604
What credibility do you have on this subject?
Absolutely none.
You don't know him, nor are you medically knowledgable to diagnose his condition.
You may not agree with it, but too bad.
Both of my parents are doctors and I've been studying medicine for the past three years....
Sure they are
And even if they are I highly doubt they are specialized in stroke victims or know anything about sports medicine.
Again...YOU have zero credibility and zero reason to insult his choice.
Okay....believe whatever you want to believe. I don't care, dude.
I have as much credibility in commenting on whether a stroke victim should play football as Tedy Bruschi does on making a decision on his own situation. He knows what his doctor's tell him. That's all. And I can tell you that more often than not, a doctor trying to foresee the future possibilities of implications regarding any sports injury is pathetically absurd. If you don't believe me.....talk to your OWN doctor. And ask another. And another. And another. I guarantee the majority of them will say that his decision is VERY risky. Whether or not he dies is obviously still TBD. But he's taking an unneccessary risk less than a year after suffering a stroke. I don't care if it was mild or not. He could very well end up dead. If you don't want to listen to fact, I can't make you, dude.
it pains me to say it but van halun is right about this. Bruschi is taking his life into his own hands at this point. NEVER has an athlete suffered a stroke then gone on to play professional football. this is some severely wishful thinking on Bruschis' part
ok, he got clearance from a doctor. big whoop, doctor's opinions (these days) can be bought and sold. who does the doctor work for? the doctor works for the NE patriots, that's who.
notice that Bruschi was going to take the whole year off until his team fell behind as far as W/L. things turned really sour for the pats and then all of a sudden, out of the clear blue sky, Bruschi "feels" like playing.
some people will just insist on thinking that he is ok to play out of sheer hope. I'm hoping (along with everyone else)
that he IS ok but c'mon. the man has a HOLE in his heart. bruschi will be left hung out to dry if things dont go his way. his team has asked him to sign waiver after waiver but he is ultimately responsible for himself.
I really think bruschi has a severe issue with his own pride. He is driving himself to do this even though medical evidence should prevent him from doing so. so fine... let bruschi have his way...nobody else can be held responsible if he collapses again.
