Er, how does owning more than one console not make you bias?

I didn't want to make PS3 fans sound bad, as not all of them are that way. I know because I'm one of them.

[QUOTE="FlailingFire"]Alright, I'll start this out simple. I own a PS3, and an X-box 360. No bias coming from me. I believe it's preposterous to not call it a beta. Most Uncharted fans will tell you Gears of war 3 wasn't a beta, rather a demo. There reasoning was because it was just that polished. And believe me, it was. It probably could have been released then and there on that build. Note that it was a two year old build, Epic was using an early one. And it still was phenomenal. A mere tad bit older then the Uncharted build. But there's reasons it's not really a demo, rather a beta. I'll start of by stating the obvious, Epic stated it was a beta. Number two, Epic stated after the beta that the build they were using had been corrected completely and all bugs found on it had been neutralized. Which enforces the fact Epic used the beta to check for other bugs and polish. Number three, Epic also used the beta to test the dedicated servers. Number four, the development was still in process and continued after the beta. And number five, Epic continued to make changes and additions after the beta as stated, for instance. Modifying literally all maps since they found spawns where being abused to a major extent. Creating a far less linear setting and making path ways for all areas you spawn in for an alternate route. They also modified the weapons such as the sawed-off by removing the down as well as adding a large light to distinguish it from the ghasher. The retro lancer also received an update, its hip-fire was corrected, which made it over powered in the betas. See map modifications: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_ZcYA26kRU Bonus: If you look at it properly, if the beta was this polished. And we know every thing has been fixed that we had issues with how polished is the full game going to be? Share your comments and feelings guys, I spent some time on this... If you do, why do you believe Gears of war 3 beta wasn't really a beta, rather a demo.

The beta was how many months before the final product?

While it won't be an amazing change, I'm sure things will improve. They probably used an older build of the game for beta testing purposes. Taking a new build with all of the fancy graphcis but with terrible optimization isn't really the point of a beta.

But a developer just stated, those graphics were final. Textures wise, I've seen some lighting improvements though in the newer footage.

[QUOTE="tonitorsi"]The game hasn't gone gold, and in no way shape or form is an unfinished beta the results of the final model...of which, releases in November. Yeah. November. Take your med pills Lemmos and chillax -_-

Textures won't improve. Just lighting, possibly. It wouldn't be possible for ND to re-do all textures in a single development phase. Also they should fix there A.A MLAA is NOT working.

[QUOTE="The_Pacific"]U3 MP graphics looked like trash. So sad that the SP looks stellar yet the MP is such a downgrade.

It's not surprising. Uncharted seems to be even more linear and scripted this time around, I loved two. But this one has done nothing to improve the image of the franchise.

[QUOTE="Blabadon"]Naughty Dog, what the hell, fix the crappy gameplay first. spookykid143

UC3 had crappy gameplay?

It wasn't bad. Once you got over the more "in" camera angle and sprint feature. Then it was alright.

Good, I was hoping that was the direction the game was going in. Absolutely vibrant, full of life and stunning. Can't waiting to play the full realized vision of Naughty Dog.Heil68
It'd be better if it had decent textures to back it up. They're pretty mediocre from what I saw, and the people stating it looks like Uncharted 2 and or worse are pretty much stating the same.

I surely hope those graphics weren't representative of the final product. IF so than Uncharted 2 looks better than UC3

I agree, the beta graphics were horrendous. The major issue is the A.A.

So.. Cristophe Balestra confirmed today via his twitter that the beta graphics were not downscaled -as some people here assumed- to make the download size smaller.. When he was asked: "Is it true that you downscaled the graphics (i.e. low-res textures) of the U3 beta, to keep the download size small?" He replied: "absolutely not."

Ouch, fans of Uncharted and myself just took a large hit. I'm a bit disappointed.
