I didn't say it's an equal struggle; I just said that men can suffer from gender norms as well. However, as it stands, women are disadvantaged socially much more by patriarchy. I'm almost in complete agreement with you, so I don't understand the hostility.

And yes, I have done extensive research on gender inequality. Feminism is a cause I deeply care about. And I truly want to figure out how to subvert sexism in society.

homosexual men do suffer from prejudice if that is what you are trying to say? I know some people have difficulty communicating what they mean and I have a hard time following what exactly you stand for or are trying to say.

Well, that's not what I'm actually saying, but prejudice against homosexual men is one consequence of heteronormativity, which is a product of patriarchy.

To clarify, I think that both men and women suffer from sexism in society, but women are generally harmed by sexist stereotypes much more than men.

And yeah, I tend to sound unclear and messy sometimes. Sorry for that. :V

Its fine, me thoughts you were tryin ta make men sound like the victims. i agree a few men and men of differing sexual orientations are treated bad but men are the oppressor 99.9% of the time

I looked at some of the videos on thats guys channel, I wouldn't take any of this seriously.

He claims to be the victem and acts like everybody is out to discriminate against him. He wants women to have more power than him so that he can then play victim and fight against an enemy that never actually existed.

toast_burner
Exactly the video maker has it backwards, he claims men have it harder when in most ways they have it much easier.

What? Men get fvcked all the time from women like this. This isn't a new thing.

Optical_Order

ummmm do you and ghost carpool or something it is actually quite uncommon... oh no but soul sucking succubi are the only reality to you all >_>

There are laws that clearly favor women in cases of child custody/alimony/divorce that have been applied for decades. Since 50% of all marriages end in divorce, and most married couples have kids, I'd say it probably isn't an uncommon occurrence.

I'm not saying all women do this, but it happens, and this is absoultely not an isolated case.

there are reasons behind those laws and there are reasons men are typically not given custody of the childeren

I wouldn't really call it new. Men have been suffering from injustice like this for quite some time; think about how many male rape victims are treated like sh!t, as an example. That oppression of men is common doesn't make this incident meaningless, but it's important to remember. I say the same regarding the oppression of women.

ghoklebutter

Ummmm what da **** u talkin about willis? Men are not oppressed... You have got no idea what you are talking about if you think that. Men get the last name, higher pay, more respect, etc. (i could make a long list so shut up with both have it equally bad as that is like saying whites have it as bad as blacks)

I didn't say that they suffer equally, and I certainly did not intend on saying that. Women constitute the majority of the victims of sexism. And I totally agree with that list of yours.

But since gender stereotypes are harmful to women, they are also, by implication, harmful to men. Think about the gender norm of male stoicism, that men are supposed to suppress their emotions in order to seem "tough" and "independent." Or how men who show sentimentalism are called "weak."

no they are not men benefit, stop trying to make everything an equal struggle men have it much easier than women, you are what fuels the mainstream perception of equality. i can not tell if you are purposefully being an ass or it is just coming naturally but twy researching okay?

"Sure I'm not saying there aren't self-centered women. There are, and there are self-centered men. There are sexist men who hate women, there are sexist women who hate men. There are retarded laws against men, retarded laws against women. It all comes back to my original statement, making this about gender is stupid. From what I can see, it's not. It's about people."

This comment on the video sums up my thoughts pretty well. Sexism runs both ways, and so it shouldn't be treated in a one-sided manner. And feminism surely isn't to blame, because people who condone injustice towards men are not feminists, but misandrists. And certainly, this problem is not a consequence of "inhernet female greed," as if women necessarily have some special kind of greed. That's just misogynistic.

Whether women are oppressed more than men is irrelevant, because what truly matters is the prejudice and discrimination in regards to biological sex. Sexism is the real enemy, not men or women. It's wrong whether women or men consitute the majority of oppressed people.

"Contraception made it possible for females to conduct campaigns to act on their urges of hypergamy."

Good luck on convincing me that this article has anything insightful to say.

Mostly dis, it is refreshing ta see a male victim though I must say. On average men are more violent by far. If a man has alot of sex he gets praised for doing so... men earn more pay on average.

[QUOTE="FlippyMittens"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]That he wouldn't have posted if he didn't agree with it.

It is true though, our military is full of brutish thug bullies. If we had media coverage of the War like Vietnam did you would see the evil we commit. Seriously we are like the Roman Empire.

To avoid a banning, I'm just going to say I disagree and move on.

Why you respect them, you would lick the blood of the innocent of their boots? GAUD BLASS AMERIKUH I mean seriously, I hate that you are shunned for not respecting someone who would be considered a criminal if they operated here in the US.
