@obsequies @Gatts1978 to be honest, up until now digital prices have reflected the need to keep retail sweet. This pre owned fee plan actually is the first step to getting away from them. So if they undercut them on digital prices it's not so important anymore. As long as Sony/MS can get consoles into places like amazon and their own retail stores/online shops, then GAME/Gamestop will realise it's their antics that have caused this shitstorm. They have made a massive amount of money by effectively cutting out the publishers. Hardly any new copies of anything in their stores anymore.

@MadMike2869 hopefully this will actually lower the cost of games? That's surely the best thing for everyone. Everybody that created a game gets paid, and the slimey retailers stop profiting from them instead. These savings should be passed onto us, and also hopefully games will get cheaper as they get older as the new copies will still be in controlled availability....

All "sources" have stated that both MS and publishers get a cut. If the CEO of the GTA publisher doesn't know these details then he needs to get on twitter a bit more lol. Seriously tho, it's obvious it's not just for MS (or Sony) else every single publisher would have told them to jog on.

@pound-u that's the wrong way of looking at it. MS gives Gold subscribers extra things. Not putting these things behind a subscription to get people to pay. The thing, the only thing that MS use to get people to pay is online gaming. I'm pretty sure they are well aware everything else they offer Gold subs is free from a pc browser.

SPBoss, I've tried playing deus ex HR at midnight here in the UK, via virginmedia 10mb connection and had no lag. Hopefully thats a sign that its more stable than we all thought it would be. ps i using a MBA (2010) so its not a monster piece of equipment either, which i know is not the point but still think its worth pointing out to people too.

da_nibbler its so that you can read the site, and see a game and be able to try it there and then, its just a convenience thing more than anything else i'd say
