@Ravenlore_basic I would love to see an Eternal Darkness on the Wii U. Unfortunately, development was done by Silicon Knights, hence Nintendo can't up and develop it using a 3rd party dev team or in-house.

For years, Nintendo has received pleas for a new Mother game but nothing has ever come out of it.

Personally, I really wish they would release Donkey Kong 64 for the virtual console. Not sure how much Rare is demanding though for the licensing, in any case it still deserves to be there, along with its DKC brethren.

@cboye18 It also offered a great challenge. The special levels without the water cannon were really hard at times.

Like others, I doubt this is true. But if for some reason it is, no way am I getting this console. One of the few great things about video game system is I can keep myself preoccupied if my internet/cable go out. Honestly though, this seems like an attempt to undermine the console.

I really hope this company is around for a long time. They seem like one of the good guys in the gaming business. Unlike EA and Activision, CD Projekt Red is all about the consumer. Whereas EA outright lies about its DRM (Sim City), CDPR tells us that absolutely no DRM will be included.

By the way, if you didn't know CDPR owns Good Old Games, which is a site dedicated to older, great software titles DRM free.

This makes sense too from a publishing standpoint. As he has said, having DRM only prolongs the games from eventually being pirated. If you put 0 budget into DRM development, you lose nothing in that regard when the game is pirated. Hence in a way you actually save money. People who pirate and download illegally are going to wait on the game anyways. And some argue DRM causes people to pirate because people want to play a great game but don't want the ill effects that DRM will provide.

@Sorciere_basic @FoxExecutive That is not what I said. I said, "Although other platforms do provide enjoyment for audiences of all ages, I would argue no where near as deep as Nintendo."

Also, your statement if Nintendo dies off it opens the market for companies to try new things is odd. What is stopping them from doing that now? In addition, I never said the market wouldn't exist. I am saying the market could change in a way that would look different than it does now.

I'll use an example. Even if you hate the type of show, family sitcoms, reality television is the new dominant force in broadcasting. Some would say the reason for this is the ending of shows like Marriage with Children, Home Improvement, etc. If you were to put yourself in the category of someone who appreciated the typical family sitcom and hates reality television you would agree that the medium of television has changed drastically for the worse. This is the point of my argument as it relates to video games. Don't necessarily assume someone else will step in and that aspect of video games will be the same. That's a dangerous assumption.

@Sorciere_basic That is drawing conclusions in a negative way. My argument wasn't to highlight that we should buy their console. I don't even own a Wii U. My argument is to bring awareness the implication that Nintendo dying off is a good thing.

I disagree with your last statement in a sense. Tablets, Kinnect, and Move have made it more accessible. But I disagree that those would have lasting effects on people and draw them in such as a title that Nintendo provides. There are examples of great games that could appeal to a wide audience on other platforms, such as Ni No Kuni. However, the majority of titles that get the most press on the other two major consoles are typically games that fall under more advanced users, such as Bioshock Infinite.

@hector530 @FoxExecutive I don't think that is a valid argument. I would say Nintendo is trying to make gaming more accessible to the casual crowd and trying to turn them into hobbyists. I wouldn't call several of their first party titles as casual titles. If you disagree, please explain.
