Shadow of the Beast on my Amiga 500. (Graphic-wise, in the late 1980ish, it was BETTER than most games played at the arcade...and it was home, on my little computer niak niak niak)

same here, coming from a speccy +3 it looked amazing.

While most peoples where playing on a wired toaster...I was playing games like that! It was amazing!

when i worked for a game retailer the stock levels depended on certain factors:

1) Publisher allocations (negotitated by the buyers v other companies)

2) Potential popularity of the game

3) Stores get allocated on pre-orders taken and sales turner over.
