Ok, I agree there. Maybe i should change the topic to ALMOST 1:1
I understand all of those points, but smart developers would have a way around those problems.
for instance, asign buttons to actions, Holding A while moving the sword is an attack, B is a defense. As for callibration, that would be easy, holding the remote still for half a second (or A + B) brings youre onscreen character back to a common starting stance.
I know that most players arent experts at the Katana or swords, but most gamers arent experts at the Guitar, and Guitar hero is HUge! Just simplify the basic moves, make it accesible. There are SOOO many NERDS out there (like me) that would love to kick someones as with a sword, even if the movements were dumbed down, and it wasnt true 1:1. (that would even help i think)
Anyone remember a game for the PS called BUSHIDO BLADE?
The concept was a fighting/sword play game that didnt rely on a health meter, but a single, well placed strike to the neck or body could kill opponents (or yourself) instantly. You were a samurai and fought basically one opponent at a time, in a linear/adventure style, with opponents getting increasingly skilled at parrying your moves, and killing you. Instead of health, if you were slashed along the leg, that leg became limp, limiting your movement. Same goes for arms. A neck or head strike was instant death.
It was more of a sword fighting simulator game. I really liked it back then...
I was thinking that a Wii Sword fighting game with 1:1 movement would be perfect for this type of game.
Thoughts?
not gunna happen? wait and see?
Dang.... cause operating online with a friend/stranger could be cool... especially if there was a headset out by then
its a bad game with bad controls. I had the same issue.... AND theres no place to just practice combat spells (that i found)
Advice, just make sure you're pushing the controllers forward, not swinging them up or down
Metroid Prime: Hunters should be your cup of tea then. Lots of stages, 7 characters to choose from, and you can play random matches in Battle mode without Friend Codes. If you do swap FCs, you can also customize your matches and unlock voice/text chat before the game starts. Another great one is Mario Kart DS (but Hunters is a shooter so I'm guessing you prefer that).metroidfood
