@Ant_17: Yeah I never got round to playing Wrekless. One of my favourtie magazine publishers at the time gave it a really bad score so never bought it. Heard it had a cult following though, Good call on Dino Crisis 3 as I'm willing to give that another shot. If anything the visuals were really nice at the time.
Otogi 1 and 2 are the ones for me though. Excellent games and I wish someday From Software would revisit that series instead of Dark Souls games all the time
@Vodoo: Chaos Theory already started making the levels too easy. As you mentioned the range of options did make the gameplay more flexible as a result but I felt in response to the 'trial and error' nature of the original they overcompensated by giving you a little TOO much freedom in terms of the gadgets and weaponary at your disposal
The first Splinter Cell game DEFINITELY made you feel the most vunerable
@restatbonfire: Yeah its a shame as I barely played Spies vs Mercs on PT as I didn't get XB Live until much later compared to my mates. Unless there is some way to play on a private server (PC version) I don't think you can play online anymore :(
@Pyrosa: Oh for sure. Now heres hoping MS can work with Ubi to bring some more OG Xbox games to the platform. I'm thinking FC Instincts Predators, the OG Splinter Cell games (of course) Cold Fear and Brothers in Arms to name a few. ;)
@Gary_Stanton: I wouldn't call that version superior but it was great that Ubisoft were able to give both current AND next gen users (at the time) the ability to experience the same game essentially with different variations, levels and story turns etc.
The OG version was almost at the peak of what the console could achieve with a few enhancements to the Unreal 2.5 engine whilst the 360 version had better multiplayer IMO. Both great versions in my eyes with their own respective uppers and downers
@djwood84: Thats a really great point. Though I don't consider the XBONE to be as close natured as say the original Xbox or PSP so I guess its a case of whether modders/hackers feel they want it to be exploited somehow. I don't condone piracy either way but case and point Sony removing features like OtherOS on PS3 really wasn't a cool thing to do
