@Skiveron In that it's an opinion? This is a really well-constructed point that is relevant to the current news and the video game "scene" as a whole. I was actually about to comment that this is one of the best articles I have read on gamespot. Great job, Parker.
@Dudeinator Maybe from a business standpoint, I guess. But from a gamer's standpoint, trailers like the ones for SC2 are incredibly misleading. Those resources would be better used making demos, which give a much better idea of what games are like. (I'm loving the demo availability on my Vita, and hope the 3DS picks up more too. Saved me from buying Lumines.)
@NachoHook Calm down a bit. Having valid points that lean in one direction doesn't nullify objectivity. If I say "murder is wrong," I wouldn't be reamed for not discussing both sides of the issue. This is something people need to consider as they yell at newsmen. ...Anyway, I bought a 3DS. And yes, it had a POOR launch lineup. But I'm enjoying SSF4 and RR (and others might want Nintendogs or Ghost Recon), so it's all good. I bought it knowing that it will eventually have a great library. I'd venture to say that most systems don't have much of a launch lineup. GBA had Castlevania and Super Mario Advance. DS had Super Mario 64 DS. XBox had Halo. I'll never convince you to buy a 3DS, Mr. Magrino. But what's so wrong with having fun with the handful of good games that are out while waiting for more that are guaranteed to come?
@deathstream And YOUR view of iOS is horribly fanboy-ish. Fact is, despite the handful of "in-depth" RPGs and adventure games that smart phones have, they're still phones, not game systems. I enjoy games on my phone, but I still play console games because, let's face it, I can't play Starcraft, Civilization, Crysis, etc on my Droid (yeah, it's not an iPhone, but let's not start THAT argument too).
