You know if you guys stopped buying this game they would stop making them. I'm just saying.

I don't know why the hell you people feel the need to play new games all the time.
If nothing you want to play is out try something for the Sega Master System you missed. I guarantee you you haven't played all worthwhile games for all platforms.
I technically buy most of mine from "specialty retailers", though I would be hesitant to put Gamestop in that category. The smaller the better when it comes to used game stores. I still like some of the big chains. Disc Replay is always great, and GameXChange always tends to hire people who really know their stuff, and can answer in depth questions about not often talked about subjects (such as modding a Sega Saturn and what the best arcade stick is).
I treat Gamestop as a regular big retailer. Thier job is to squeeze as much money from you by selling you **** you don't need. The only thing they are good for is getting reserves, and even then that's rare. It really is not necessary to pre-order big name releases like Call of Duty or Halo especially when the retail chains across the street will have it many days earlier and sometimes even cheaper. The only time you would need to pre-order something is if its a niche title. The last game I pre-ordered was Deathsmiles (Cave, 2007), and I am glad I did because I haven't seen it in a store since.
I am sure if it did not include multiplayer I would have heard about it by now.
Either way, wouldn't you prefer to hold a physical copy of what you pay for?
The majority of people have terrible taste in everything, just look at the box office numbers for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Yes, I know this joke has been beaten into the ground by now but this really stands as a testament to the stupidity of the world.
A solid list, to be sure. I don't know what i would have chosen. I don't think I personally woudl have chosen Red Dead Redemption, because I don't see myself ever going back to it. The story was good (by video game standards) and was entertaining throughout, and never drug on too long, but I don't see myself every replaying it.
I would probably say Vanquish. I had a blast going through the story and I will replay it over and over again. The ability to replay a game is one of the most important criteria you can use to determine its overall quality. I may be slightly biased toward Vanquish, I always love to help underrepresented games get their moment of fame.
How do you only have 20 (or less) games? I can't even really consider myself a "hardcore" gamer and I have nearly 200 (I haven't updated my collection in a while, Gamespot likes to bug out on me). I am going to go ahead and call your "gamerdom" into question. I don't think you are as well versed in this medium as you should be.
No, I don't finish every game, because a lot of games are just too horrible to finish. The last two culprits of this were Lightning Warrior Raidy (Zyx, 2008), and Blood Drive (Sidhe, 2010).
The first one because I don't generally like hentai games in general, or RPGs, and when you have a hentai RPG with first person dungeon crawling, which is the same reason I hated Phantasy Star (Sega, 1988) it's just one big pile of absolutely not.
The second, because I rented it on a whim, and I thought it would at least be enjoyable in a cornball Earth Defense Force 2017 (Sandlot, 2007) kind of way, but it actually managed to take the cake for the worst game I have ever played. Never in my life have I played something so unfun, and I have played an assload of indie games.

Some people like challenge in their games, some people don't. For me personally, I can go either way. I love Heavy Rain though you can't technically "lose" and I think even calling it a "video game" is wrong in the first place, but it is a great... whatever it is. At the same time, I love to go through arcade games with only using 1 credit or completing similar challenges.
It's really up to you. I only rented the game briefly and I thought it was very well done, very challenging but never unfairly so, and when you die and retry an area, you get better than you were previously. I didn't reach the end though, so I don't know if it goes into unfair hard at the end or not.
