Most of the games I had were not compatible with Xbox 360 as well.
My Xbox keeps getting read errors and freezing, I just havn't gotten around to correcting the problem yet.
I wouldn't really trust anything you buy from Gamestop, the only reason somebody would sell Gamestop an Xbox for $20 is if it is broken. Come to think of it, I think I may do that with mine.
Regardless of who the current champion is, I think the Playstation 2 is ready to take over this honor, unless they quit making games real fast.
Also, about Atari. The Atari of today has nothing in common with the Atari that made the classic video game systems. Its just that the name was bought.
Its best just to stay away from third party memory cards. That 8MB will actually hold quite alot. I have 2 Playstation 2 memory cards and that is all I have ever needed.
They do make a Playstation 2 hard drive, but that is only compatible on the fat models of the Playstation 2. You also can't save directly to the hard drive. You would need to save to your memory card and then move that data to your hard drive. When you would want to load the data you would need to copy it from the hard drive to the memory card and then start the game to load it.
The hard drive is really only used if you are going to play Resident Evil Outbreak/Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 or Final Fantasy XI. I got it to play Resident Evil Outbreak... Ashame that game isn't online anymore.
