@fastica Starcraft doesn't have a persistent character development that effect's the online community.
Diablo 3 does, therefore if you want a game where you can take your single player character and use him in a online game, that game needs to be connected to a server at all time to process and log that characters development. Otherwise people would hack their character and make their own loot and break the balance of the game.
@kingchiz First of all, no. Why in the hell would someone own a PC (let alone call themselves a PC gamer) and not have a internet connection?? That is like buying bullets and not owning a gun. it just doesn't make any sense. most people have internet at this point and if you don't have internet then that's your problem.
@carolynmichelle I felt the story telling, the online matchmaking, the auction house and the crafting system made Diablo 3 a significant improvement over the Diablo "framework".....
@the_mailman repetitive? name a RPG that is not repetitive then your statement might be valid. This game actually requires alot of thought and strategy when creating a character build. On higher difficulties this game is far more challenging then most RPG's.
@Puffinmuffin The game requires servers to proccess item drops and many other variable. In short the game would not run without blizzard servers, therefore it will never happen. They would have to rewrite alot of code to make it work offline.
This game is by far the most fun i have had in years. good review. I do not agree with some of his complaints. the overall experience makes up for it's flaws.
@MLBknights58 Just so you know, if you only spent 20 hours with the game then your opinion on the loot being "limited" is false. there is far more loot that you haven't discovered and I have played D2, this game has more varied loot then D2 by far.
