Got New Headphones

Well, I got tired of my crappy dektop speakers for movies, music, and gaming, so I got a pai of over the ear headphones. Sony MDR-V150s

I grabbed these at my local Staples for $20. They sound great, which is all that really matters to me. I love how these emphasize the bass, it feels like being at a movie theater. I definitley recommend these as a less expensive alternative or if you need an extra pair for some reason.

Making the switch for good.

So I finally got an up to date computer this May which is more than able to play modern games. Over the summer I was slowly making the switch from Xbox 360 to PC gaming. I feel it is the end of my 360 phase for good :(

I see every game I am interested in that comes out on the 360 is coming out on the PC. Well, its not only appealing to pay $10 less for games, but I now enjoy the crisp look and feel of PC gaming. Online gaming may be the only downfall for me, but I don't think it's enough of a problem. My LIVE subscription ends in October, and as far I'm concerned, I won't be renewing it. I won't be getting rid of my 360, as I still have a few good games like GTA 4 I play, but any new games that come out willbe purchased on the PC, and at the very least, I'll play a few with the 360 controller ;)

Stockpiling Games this Week

So all week I've been finding awesome deals on games I've wanted to get.

So far I've managed to grab: Crysis Warhead, Call of Duty 4 PC, Pure PC, Civilization IV +expansions, Dead Space PC, and GTA SA PC.

Now Call of Duty 4 I already have on the 360, but for only $5 I couldn't say no! Not from a store, but a buddy of mine decided it was collecting too much dust, so he cut me a deal :D . I'm playing through Single Player again to get used to the keyboard and mouse, which is pretty different, but in a good way. I'm liking the faster loading times and sharper visuals, so no complaints there!

The same friend also gave me Civilization IV and Dead Space. I've yet to try Dead space, but I'm excited to give it a go later tonight when its nice and dark ;) . Civilization IV, well, its fun, but it feels like the game feels like its playing it for me. All im doing is deciding what gets made when, everything else is a simulation. Meh, its fun, just feels more like watching a movie than playing a game.

Pure and Warhead I found at a garage sale in my neighborhood. I was walking my dog and they had a big sign that said, "Tons of Computer Games for Sale". It was destiny, and I thank my dog for having to get some excersize. The kid had Crysis Warhead and Pure for $3, yes THREE DOLLARS EACH. AFTER I bought the games I told him I would have taken it for $10 each, he made a sad face... :)

Oh and Grand Theft Auto was in my closet and I had never Installed it because my old computer was OLD, and it wouldn't have been able to play it.Now I remember putting it away a few years back... Good luck I guess finding it! It's aged really poorly but it's still fun to activate a ton of cheats and fly my car to the moon.

I'll update this tonight after I play some Dead Space.

Ok, I Just Beat Half-Life 2! WOW

Easily one of the highest quality games I've ever played. I am amazed that this game looks so good for a 2004 release! It not only looks great, but it plays great as well. I finished the original FEAR earlier this year, and having heard it was one of the best looking games when it came out, I was surprised. It did not age very well. I would have to say Half-Life 2 looks much better that FEAR.

HL2 also has a fantastic story. Very cinematic and very compelling. As I progressed further through the game, I was more and more inclined to beat it. I absolutley loved the final level inside the combine. The scale of it was absolutley breath taking. The ending was some what of a cliff hanger that I actually enjoyed.

If for some reason there's anyone out there who hasn't played this game, I HIGHLY recommed getting it.

Best purchase of the year!

Just got Half-Life 2... WOW!

Half Life 2I know it has been out for several years, but I just picked up a Game of the Year copy. This game is AMAZING. I cannot believe I never got this when there was a ton of hype! I am only on the first level, but I feel like the world is super realistic and immersive. the gameplay is top notch as well. My only gripe about it is the level structure. I find myself lost for a minute trying to figure out where the secret tunnel is... Its a TINY issue so Im not really complaining. So far the storyy is very well told and there is some fantastic dialogue on top. I even chuckled when Leonard popped up and added some comedy to the mix. Any way, now I understand why this game is so highly praised, and am so happy I got this game. this will be on the top of my play list for quite some time! I will keep updating as I progress through the story.

What a great birthday!

Wow, i had a great weekend with all of my birthday presents!

I got a 22 inch widescreen monitor... Ill never go back to standard again!

My sisters boyfriend got me Fable ll and Dead Space, both awesome games.

And a bunch of clothes... YAY!

Anyways, Im posting to reflect on the two games.

Fable ll is a great sequel but was a little bit of a let down. Not too much though! The story seemed a little weak, though a great premise. I've beaten it once already and am on my second playthrough.Im having a blast upgrading my abilities and trying tofind all of the gargoyles! If anyone was questioning whether they should get it, its a great game with tons of hours of gameplay!

Im only about 2 hours into Dead Space right now, and i ust say, EA has a smash hit in their hands! This is the best horror game I've ever played! Its like a mix of the movie Event Horizon, Alien, and Jason X. There is a very large amount of depth involved with upgrading your suit and wepons, which gives some strategy to the game. The only complaint i have with the game is that the enemies dont have much variety. All in all this game kicks ***!

Both are great games and should be on everyones shelf!

Just played the End War demo...

I thought it was a blast! I think Ubisoft has their hands on a great title. The voice command system is absolutely incredible, if it wasn't for that, this game would be very confusing and difficult. Although the campaign mission only lasted a mere 5 minutes, the skirmish mode is a load of fun to mess around in. I was having a hard time understanding the commands at first, but after about 15 minutes, it was pretty simple; select units, move to a base, secure base, attack enemy. :) If any of you have the space in your HDD, try it out! I am now having second thoughts that I should get this! It is a great premise and as long as it holds up at the end, it will be a smash hit.
