I bought it at $50, mainly because my workplace got two free copies, and the online accounts were basically claimed by my co-worker and boss. In order to play with them, I bought my own.

The game itself is fun, but I would certainly look for it at $30 or less. It seems like EA really pushed it too early.

Yeesh.. Vista? I'd be able to help more if it were an XP box. (Despite what people tell you, you don't really get a performance boost from Vista anyway.)

Sounds like it could be a number of things ranging from overheating to driver conflictions. Do you get the Vista equivilent of a STOP error? (BSOD)

It's not a case of having trouble finding the game, it's a problem involving sorting through the multi-platform titles instead. You end up with a list for example showing:

With one on the PSX, PS2, and GameCube under that, but with the same name.

Xbox Live is still down in the Rocky Mountain area. Logins to Live itself works fine, but issues regarding downloading, authenticating, and purchasing downloadable content are still rampant, as well as lobby issues with games like CoD4, Gears of War, and Chromehounds.

I played five matches with four matches being reported as "Null" due to communication errors.

Ressurected, yes... but it's still a BIG problem.

I ended up having to re-write a post pertaining to tournament stuff more than six times because of this problem, yet there were NO tags in the HTML source that were Unclosed or Malformed.

This happened when I was using a quote from a text source I pasted in. It also seemed to work once I replaced the (p) and (/p) tags with break tags instead. When I did a preview it did just fine, but when submitting it to post, it ended up with the same Malformed and unclosed tag error.

Haha.. and I got another one while writing this post.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl has been updated to 1.0005, however the patch for 1.5 is missing from the gamespace and is only going up to 1.4.Found the patch via StalkerFiles, but it should of course, be added to Gamespot's files.

If he is really, really, really into modern warfare, get him Lock On: Modern Air Combat, as Broken had sugguested. With everything set to realistic, it is a bit of work to get even a basic radar lock and to fire at said locks. However it's full of detail and certainly worth it.
