From a hardware point of view I'm very underwhelmed by both consoles. I know console only gamers and deluded fanboys honestly believe what we are seeing is a massive leap in terms of graphics but it just isn't. Any PC gamer will tell you that. The fact some games still can't manage 1080p and 60fps on either console speaks volumes. As for the games themselves it's just more of the same old stuff, just better looking. This however isn't a console problem but the industry in general. The only thing that remotely excites me is finally consoles get some good MMO's. I like MMO's, along with Strategy and RPG's. I just hope cross platform play as in FF14 is the norm.

Anyway, I will buy both consoles eventually but I've decided to upgrade my PC for now as I see no reason at all to own either next gen console. Yet.

What find amusing is console gamers have said for years there is barely any difference at all to PC and PS3/360 yet here we are, seeing PC dominate even next Gen consoles. When it comes to the PS4/PC AC4 I fully expect them to be very close. At the end of the day it's basically a current gen game with the detail ramped up for stronger hardware. As the gen progresses the gap in graphical fidelity between pc/console will just widen. Although again, like always console only gamers will claim little or no difference.

Am I the only person who finds this comparison totally ridiculous? A game developed for multiple systems over 2 generations v's a true next gen exclusive?? The fact that they are comparable at all speaks volumes in my opinion.

I'm still struggling to see why price is even relevant... I mean sure, if you buy 4-5 games a year consoles are best but who does that? I've bought over 350 games on Steam alone in the last 4 years over 3 accounts plus close to 50 boxed. Average price of PC games was about $30 as opposed to $70 of console games. Next Gen will be closer to $100 on console. That's here in Australia. My current PC cost $1500 total. I've more than made the price difference up plus had a vastly superior gaming experience in terms of graphics and performance.

This has probably been posted 100 times but this pretty much settles it. Pc is the best, then PS4 the x1

Currently planning on upgrading my pc. Mobo/CPU/GPU and 1440p monitor. Gonna cost me close to $2500AUS. I could get both next gen consoles for that. It doesn't bother me one bit though. I'll make up the difference in cheaper games and Steam Deals over the next 3-4 years. Not to mention I'll have no issues with backward compatibility on my already massive pc game collection.

@BluRayHiDef: I buy every console, every generation yet I still will never be without a pc. I love pc games. I love the freedom of the pc as well as cheap games. I'm currently planning on spending $2250 on upgrading my pc ready for next gen and I don't mind spending that, I'll more than make it back on cheaper games and steam deals. I'll defiantly buy both x1 and PS4 but I'll defiantly continue to be a 90% pc gamer. It's the best system without a doubt

Loved it, absolutely brilliant. You can keep your "The Last of Us" I was bored after 12 hours. Ni no Kuni was the PS3 game of this gen in my opinion. Coming from a gamer who is 90% pc.

@acanofcoke: lol it is pretty loud. Still, at almost 1/2 the price of a Titan here is Australia it still may be worth it.

@acanofcoke: lol yeah, I used to have a GTX 470 and that ran silly hot too so I'm used to it. Case has got loads of fans. Although I'm currently running a gygabyte 660ti wind force and it's ultra quiet, not sure ill like the noise
