Don't look at scores to compare, treat them like a graded assignment at school. Just because Wendy over there got a better score on her essay doesn't mean it's better. Not my fault I had to report on the rare findings of kelp and she got cartoon history. (That last part has nothing to do with anything... unless you get it's implications).
There are 10 numbers... games will get the same score. There aren't half points anymore so unless they make up more numbers and put them somewhere from 1-10. Expect numbers to be used more than once.
Also they can't get rid of the scores because publishers want them. I know Kotaku doesn't have them but they also aren't important to publishers. (as much as their comments show up).
I really like 1-5, you can tell what a game will receive after the review has shared his/her thoughts. Go watch some Rev3 games reviews and you'll see that the score really isn't important. I don't really know how they do it but they really make the score meaningless. Maybe because the show the reviewer so much during the review and end it with more thoughts, making it known that this is a critics review and not some faceless name who we know nothing about.
@Dinostrich @FusionRain @sjawz3288 I agree fully, we should expect better. Too me every CoD looks somewhat different but that's to be expected with different themes. I say this game does look nice and I really just wanna see it in person.
@Tyree Mitchell Wait for the game in person, also 1080p, 60fps, comes at a price. I don't know any game that looked better on a video than in person (graphic wise).
@sjawz3288 I also love how this is still an example of how graphics don't make games. Design makes them good. Graphics is just a nice touch. If you have nice visuals and physics and everything makes sense in the contents of the game world then what's the problem?
You see, my thing was as soon as I heard the part about the sexist thing I kinda scratched my head a bit but pretty much ignored it. I do get why that bothers people and can't stand people for trying to say they shouldn't be upset or disagree that it doesn't fit. Not to push too much but people don't like the jokes in South Park, don't watch South Park. I get it though, you get the assignment, you do it like any other job.
This is also the internet, people are f-tards and say stupid sh*t all the time. A petition by some trolls should be easily over looked as incalculable data from some random trolls clicking a button means nothing. Please note that once you put that comment section there you open yourself up to horrible things. Censoring some swear words ain't gonna stop people from posting what they want.
So lets make a check list so we can get past this.
1: It ain't bout the score 2: Trolls gonna troll 3: Don't Feed the trolls 4: You don't like crappy users, "MODERATE YOUR SITE" 5: Move on after a while, don't cry bout it, you claim to be professional, then handle the trolls and keep it moving.
