The price is only half of my complaint at the concession stand. The other being the completely unmotivated staff, of which there are only two for 40 people waiting in line. If I'm paying $9.50 for a popcorn and soda, I expect world-class service!This...and why would I pay $20+ to watch something I can see for free at my house on my 60" bravia and surround sound speakers with no smelly, rude people kicking my seat and yapping? Like I said, price isn't the only problem. Theaters have just because obsolete as consumer home products have become better. Yep I agree, and that's why movie studios are desperate to get 3D to become the next big thing, as most people will have to go to theaters to really experience it and as a bonus pay more for each ticket.[QUOTE="Engrish_Major"][QUOTE="gamedude2020"]
I used to work in a cinema and they don't make money from ticket sales, they have to pay most of it to the movie company. They make money from food and drink

Before I haven't seen any 3D movies I thought... whats so big about it ?...
But when I went to watch AVATAR.... then I was like "Whaat the hellllll... O_O"
I hadn't thought it would be so cooool xDMrGeezer
Keep in mind that most 3D movies are not like Avatar.
Avatar cost a lot of money, spent a long time in development, and from the very early stages was crafted with 3D in mind. I haven't seen it, but from what I hear it mostly avoids what often happens with 3D movies, which is cheap gags in which stuff gets thrown into the audience's face. That's about the equivalent of liking Ghallager because of the notion that you might get some watermelon splashed on you.
Secondly, a lot more common these days is movies being designed around 2D. Then after they are shot, movies which were never made for 3D are sent off for a cheap 3D conversion. And the 3D adds NOTHING to the movie, because it was nothing more than a cheap afterthought.
For all of the negative things that people can say about James Cameron's movies, one thing is sure...when it comes to technical issues, he does NOT halfass things. James Cameron KNEW how much of a gimmick 3D is, and he made a BIG effort to have 3D that isn't just a throwaway gimmick. Whether or not he succeeded in that goal is not something that I'm going to get into. But make no mistake...there will be FEW movies in the next few years which take 3D as seriously as Avatar. The majority of 3D movies to come are only going to be trying to cash in on people like you, who were blown away by Avatar.
Which makes things hard on you, because you're about to see some of the worst movies you've ever seen in your life, only in 3D. Whether or not this trend of crappy 3D movies takes over the industry depends on if people like you buy into the gimmick. People can call ANYTHING a gimmick, but the thing about the word "gimmick" is that it implies a short lifespan. If it lasts long enough uninterrupted, then it's really NOT a gimmick. It's more of a shift in the nature of the industry.
Anyway, all I'm trying to say is that you should very well take notice of the fact that most 3D movies are NOT Avatar. Avatar (by all accounts I've heard) is a rare exception to peoples' approach to using 3D. People now WANT 3D because of Avatar, but I guarantee that the 3D they get will NOT be up to Avatar standards unless the people who love 3D are willing to not watch all of the crappy 3D movies.
Excellent post and I 100% agree.

A lot of people probably said the same thing after watching The Phantom Menace.

I don't know what exactly to make of this but I sincerely hope that this isn't Activision trying to force their way into Blizzard and basically doing what they did to Infinity Ward and the Guitar Hero franchise.
What are your thoughts?
If you're using steam burn a backup copy (steam lets you do this) and then install it from that. If you aren't using steam make sure that the game is fully patched (just patch it manually since you can't launch the game). you can also try to roll back to a previous version of your graphics drivers and see if that solves the problem (try 10.2 for the ATI drivers, I'm using those on a 4870 and the game works perfectly). Good luck.UGH! Thats gonna take about 8 hours... 5.4gb with 100kb/s dl speed is horrid

Edit: I reread your original post and just realized that maybe you haven't set an exception for the game on windows firewall. Sometimes windows won't let the game update itself so make sure that BC2 is added to the list of exceptions.
