@gleencross: i see your point. Thanks for sharing. I dont agree with substance or subsistence though. I am an MGS gamer at heart, that is the only game i love more than FF. I loved substance and subsistence, especially substance because of the ninja (I was a kid back then and was all into samurais and ninjas). But if you mean they deserved better scores than the originals, then i dont agree. However, i do understand your point of them being "better", of course they are, they have more content.

Imagine doing a cover of a song with more instruments, would you say that it is better than the original song? :)

Your comment was very good with the comparison to other games. I really mean that, even though i disagree. It was a good point of view.

However, your ending is just immaturity at its finest. Honestly, if there was an award for immature comments (thatd be awesome to watch), youd definitely be nominated. You wouldnt win though, because trust me when i say that there are others here that are much worse than you, as hard as that is to believe XD

20+ hours in. I gotta say im still enjoying it a lot. I also gotta say the sidequests can be very terrible. 9/10 so far.

I agree, the whinyism on this one is what is really disappointing, not the game at all. I will finish it and draw my own conclusions, but 20+ hours in Im still enjoying it.

The budget comparison you exposed is very good, though i may obviously be very wrong but i thought the original was 40+ millions added to 100 million from Sony for post production and marketing. I will get back to you on this one, have to confirm.

I was impressed with the dressing section. I thought it was gonna be extremely cringe-fueled. However, they actually reworked it a lot and I gotta say i was impressed. Not saying i loved it, but im just admitting that they put a lot of work into something that was otherwise very simple and straight-forward in the original. Just a small example of adequate modernizing up to a certain degree :)
