The Big Reveal: PIctures of My Game Room and Collection

Took some pictures of my new setup, but sadly a lot of them turned out blurry. My camera on my phone takes sharp pictures outside, but often can be fickle inside, especially with light from energy saving bulbs. Oh well this will do.

The three new black bookshelves. On those are all my xbox, xbox 360, PS2, GC and wii games.

On the Woden tower, is all my Ps1 titles, PSP, Titles, all my UMD movies, and on the evry top my PS3 games.

On the top of the units, My Raving rabbids wii charger (still sealed), Dragon Quest Controller (still sealed), Mario 25th, My 360 hori controller, Halo reach Limited edition, ACDC Rock Band Limited edition, and Street Fighter 4 Limited edition.

If you wonder what's in the red box it's this:

Neo Geo Pocket Color, and games.

Final fantasy X Rikku figure, my Sonic Figure collection, Street Fighter Ken PS2 Controller, all my NES games, 32x games, SNES games, SMS games. Sorry I can't get further in but all my close up shots ended up with a blur so it was useless to post.

Genesis games, 32x games, Sega CD games, Sega Saturn games, N64 games.

Various books,Takio Drum Master, Time Crisis 3, SMB figures, Pac-man Plushie, Fling Smash plushie, Mario fan and more

All my Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance, DS, and some select PC titles.

Spirited away, Halo each poster, and a Painting/college I did some years back. Yes I used to be an artist.

More posters

Music CDs there BTW.

More posters, My Laptop, FF X-2 Display I got 6 years back, Sega Nomad is there in its case, In the Plastic white case is my n64 and Sega master system for easy access. 32x is pack away elsewhere along with my duplicate Genesis, and Saturn systems. The painting on the wall was also done by me.

New super Mario Bros Wii Poster; Systems on top are, Xbox, PS3, and Xbox 360.

My TV, FC Twin, Dreamcast, Sega CD/Genesis, Saturn, Ps2 and Wii are all hooked to the tv. Along with the 3 on top that makes 9 consoles. I have two power surge strips, one on the top of the unit in the back, and another on the right side at the bottom, I have all plugs marked with a sticker and unplugged, so when I'm ready to play I just plug the cord in to the corresponding console and go.

My PSP and 3Ds are also on here.

Most of my Ps games are stored away.

what you think guys and gals?

Back From Vacation, Lots Of Games For My Game Collection

Hello all! Hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day! I just came back from vacation, and had a terrific time fishing and stopping at local fleamarkets and a yard sales browsing for games for my game collection among other things. Dinosaurs For Hire, Sega Genesis, used, Complete, $5

Brutal Above the Claw, Sega 32X, used, Complete, $5

Recent Game Time

From one of my previous blogs "can't settle on one," there's two games I forgot to mention that I played over that 4 day weekend.

One goes by the name: Beat Down: Fists Of Vengeance for the PS2. It was made by Capcom, and Unlike most of their games there is a serious lack of polish with this game. That aside, there are some neat concepts with it too. You're part of a mafia, and you get blamed for something you didn't do. Now you gotta deliver vengeance, fending off people trying to kill you and the cops trying to do the same. It features a fighting system that's alright, and you can recruit, rob, interrogate or take your frustrations out on people who tick you off (which usually results in you doing something along the lines of killing that person. It's rough, unfinished, but nevertheless it's okay to play for an afternoon or so. I could never imagine playing it for any good length of time.

The other game I played too was Beyond Good and Evil for the PS2. I didn't play it long,(about two hours or so) but what I've played has been pretty sweet. I'll probably play this more down the road. I can safely say, If you've never try this game, you gotta at least once.

___

From my trip to the retro game store, I've gotten the chance to play some games from the haul.

The first was The Masked Rider: Karmen Rider ZO, which is awesome. I know FMV games for the Sega CD got a bad rap (and in a lot of cases deservedly so) but this is one of the few that works. It's fun for an afternoon of play, and features some of the best monster character designs I've seen.

Alisia Dragoon was a game I saw on the shelf in the store that just said "buy me." It's my Sega for the Genesis, But I swear to you I've never ever heard of this game before. Regardless, it's a real gem. You're a female dragoon, and have the ability to shoot lighting and such. It feels kinda like a cross between a shoot em up with a platformer. You also can have various pets, like a dragoon that attack as well. as you progress through the stages you and your pet creature increase in level which makes you and your pet stronger. Pretty darn cool.

Gunforce for the Snes has been fun too. Now I know it's not an arcade perfect port of the original game, and I know it's a bit easy, but regardless it's still pretty fun. I played through and beat it a couple times last night. It's like Contra light, with the ability to use vehicles and such. A pretty neat game.

Sega Rally Championship 2 I played on the Dreamcast tonight, and so far it's pretty darn good. it's a great arcade port, with some sweet pluses, like the ten year championship mode, awesome advanced level tinkering you can do with every car you get, and split screen multiplayer. It's really well rounded.

Finally the other game I played tonight was Daytona USA. As awesome as Rally 2 is, Daytona is even better. Not only is it a great port of the arcade, but it includes all the bonus stuff that was released on console up to that point, plus new tracks, and more. It's got great gameplay, great options to customise the way you play right down to the sensitivity of the analog stick, and loads of content. Heck this puppy even featured Online play back in the day. I highly recomend both Sega Rally 2 and Daytona USA if you have a Dreamcast.

My Trip To The Retro Game Store

There's a place near me that sells a loads of older video games. I haven't been to this place in ages. Finally I got the urge to travel out and check out this place. I'm glad to see it's still open and their selection has grown drastically. Good lord I thought my eyes went cross eyed for a moment staring at all the older titles. Searching about, my main focus today was looking for dreamcast titles, sega CD, and Saturn games as those are kinda hard to find complete int eh wild near me. I managed to score 9 dreamcast games, a sega CD game, 2 32x games, a Sega Genesis game, and a snes game.

The Haul:

Star Wars: Arcade, 32x, Cart only, $1, R1

Metal Head, 32x, Cart only, $2, R3

Alisia Dragoon, Sega Genesis, Cart only, $1.99 (found it on a whim, picked it up cause I never heard of it before and it's by Sega apparently. Watching gameplay vids it look like a shoot em up mixed with a platformer, and very promising!), R4

GunForce, Snes, cart only, $8, R2

The Masked Rider: Kamen Rider ZO, Sega CD, Complete, $7 (oh man, I'm so excited I got this game! Don't find this in the wild too often), R3

Fighting Force 2, Dreamcast, Complete, $2, R1

Expendable, Dreamcast, Complete, $6, R2

Sega Rally 2; Sega Rally Championship, Dreamcast, Complete, $2, R2

Daytona Usa, Dreamcast, Complete, Free, R2

Hydro Thunder, Dreamcast, Complete, Free, R2

Super Magnetic Neo, Dreamcast, Complete, Free, R3

Blue Stinger, Dreamcast, Complete, $6, R1

Trick$tyle Dreamcast, Complete, $6, R1

Illbleed, Dreamcast, Complete, $14 (this looks awesome), R3

I scored the three free games through a promotion the shop had.

Can't Settle On One

I've had a 4 day weekend, been off from work since Wednesday. Prior to that I worked ten days In a row without a days off. So these last four days I've figured I get some gaming in. But I haven't been really into playing 1 game and have found myself lounging about and bouncing from game to game.

On the 360 front I've played a little Left 4 Dead with my friend, and for the second week in a row I've earned an achievement without actually...doing what it needs to say. I turned it on this week and POOF, got the dead wrecking achievement right away o_0. Not that I'm complaining :P

Finally cracked open Split/second. It's premise is on lots of destruction and thrills, and man does it fulfills providing a lot of crazy moments. It doesn't have as many unlockables or modes as some current racers but it does provide a thrill ride and if you know anything about me, I'm a sucker for games that provide thrills. My only gripe I would say is rubber-band AI, as you are never really ahead ahead, but amazingly enough it seems to work both ways as You are never really behind. Kinda difficult to explain but nevertheless, the game isn't really hard, and it's meant more to be fun then anything and it fulfills on that promise. I played this for some hours on Friday. Still my favorite destruction racer (if you will call that sub genre) would be Blur, great underrated game.

On the portable end, I've been playing some more of Super Street Fight 4 Just getting in a few matches on Thursday. I've played a heck out of challenge mode and have been focusing on unlocking tiles and icons over the last couple of weeks. I've also started playing Super Mario Bros 3 Super Mario Advance 4, and My eyes have had trouble adjusting to the small screen. xD maybe I need to bust out the game boy player eh? I haven't played a platformer in a while and I guess my skills are rusty as heck.

(Note my copy has completely different boxart)

The rest of this weekend I've been bouncing from game to game on my PS2. Started out playing a game called Lupin The 3rd: Treasure of the Sorcerer King, which for some reason made me have an urge to watch Castle of Cagliostro (great movie!) Can't believe it's nearly 32 years old now. Anyway, playing the game I was liking the disguises but after a couple of hours I was just not feeling like playing for a while. Mainly cause I was watching the movie. =P

Continuing the anime trend, I played Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo and Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs. Zeon. I liked the fact that Jaburo incorporated a story, with the characters from the anime in it, but I just could not get used to the controls and accuracy. After playing Mobile Suit Gundam for the PS3, I'm used to that control scheme and accuracy as the best so far, and I can't seem to get into earlier Gundam games like that. I know the Ps3 game was bashed, but the controls felt good and it was fun to play with the options it had. Federation vs. Zeon is different as it's more arcade like with vs. battles. Unlike the typical 1 on 1, the objective is to destroy other robots from the opposing faction to reduce their strength meter to 0, and preventing them doing the same for you. It's got an easier and more simple control scheme and the battles move pretty darn fast. It's a bit fun but I soon found msyelf turning it off as it did not keep me engaged in playing.

I played Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for a good bit on Saturday on the Ps2. I can see why some said it wasn't as sharp in color as the xbox version. Nevertheless, as I got into the groove I had quite a bit of fun with this. Nothing beats the feeling of being in the shadows and doing a swift kill. Out of the original Splinter Cell games, Chaos Theory seems to be the easiest.

I also played Sonic Riders. Also got acquainted again with the fact that the game is bad. Very bad. Too darn complicated controls and the AI is killer!

I played some instant action with Star Wars Battlefront as well with the computer (bot matches if you will). Great game, and you need not know anything about star wars to enjoy it and it's sequel. I never have won many matches, as the game is like battlefield series. You can be an awesome player but it takes a team effort to win, not just 1 person.

Played some Timesplitters as well, too for a little bit. The game is nuts, in a good way. If you're a 3rd person shooter fan you gotta try 1 of the the old Timesplitters games at least once.

I played a little bit of Silpheed: The Lost Planet as well. It's kinda ho hum shoot em up (and I love shoot em ups). The music in it is generic. I never really was thrilled with this game, even when I got it 5 years ago. After watching vids of Silpheed for the Sega CD, I think I'll get it sometime. It's fast paced and kinda mesmerising. Unlike Silpheed: The Lost Planet.

Finally, One of the games I started to play a lot of early in my 4 day weekend was Street Fighter Ex 3. It's a different type of street fighter for sure. I do love Zangief in the game, as he's one of my main characters I like to use in that game. My other favorite is a character called Skullomania who's definitely inspired by a certain Japanese super hero (Kamen rider!). He's got a some hilarious moves, and is pretty darn fast.

That's been my weekend, bouncing around from game to game. :P

Little Game Haul

Stopped by the flea market today and scored 5 games for 11 bucks.

First up, 3 GBA games I found for 2 bucks each.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, GBA, cart only, $2

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3, GBA, cart only, $2

Medabots AX: Rokusho Version, GBA, cart only, $2

And then two Sega Genesis games for $2.50 each

Virtual Pinball, Sega Genesis, Complete, $2.50 (this game is very cool as it features 29 tables, but you can also create you own, using up to 256 different parts! You can save up to ten tables.)

Ms. Pacman, Sega Genesis, Complete, $2.50 (a Tengen cart for the genny, it features many options and new mazes on top of the original Ms. Pacman game.)

What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I won't be gaming that much since I gotta work all weekend. But with the time I got, I'll probably dabble more into the 3DS, playing Super Street Fighter 4 3D edition (already racking up over a dozen hours already on this), and Pilotwings Resort which I just got earlier this week at a big discount. It's fun, relaxing and pretty :P

I always hope to play more of the 3rd Birthday as well. The game is freaking gorgeous on the PSP!

So, what are you playing this weekend?
