Sorry to add on debate, I went to my local gamestop, I was exchanging a game, I was curious about new games coming out, So i asked the sales rep working there, "where is your PC game library?" the rep pointed to me a very small shelf of games. Then I asked "why is it so small?" He told me "nobody really buys pc games except the really big titles like starcraft 2, world of warcraft and etc." I wasn't really shocked because 90% of the inventory there was console games. Maybe gamestop doesn't push PC games enough or whatever on thing is true, PC gaming is not as big as some on seem to think. Plus gamestop stores don't any PC hardware at the store in Washington State but I know on their website they do and they do sell consoles at the stores. I don't believe pc is better because people vote with their wallets.

The PC market relies HEAVILY on digital distribution. Numbers point that around HALF of all PC game sales are from online retailers such as Steam.

what pc games are you talking about? we talking major titles or just mini games played on itouch, messegers, or etc.

Do you even read some of the stuff people post? It has been menionned over and over and OVER again that DD is becoming more prevalent.

And I know a lot of my stores that have a bigger PC section than console.

yes i did read them. I live where there is 10 gamestops in my area withing 15 mile radius. You can call anyone one of them ask how big their library is for pc gaming. The selection is small. Best buy carries a bigger selection but over lets not kid ourselves here. PC market is not a big at some think. my zip code is 98021. you can call anyone one of those retailers and they will tell you the samething They told me. I can mention all 5 major pc game played right now. Starcraft 2, any MMO, Crysis and who cares about the last two.

to add on to insult, EA has also alter the experience of the game to a degree that will have alot of people upset. Its disspointing EA couldn't stick to a formula that made this series a hit with players.

Putting some thought into what's been discussed, it seems that the most "cost effective" way to get the best graphics and access to the most games is to buy both a PC rig and a console, but at different times.

Back in 2005, the 360 was released with one of the most powerful GPUs ever seen up to that point in time. The only PC graphics card that could match up against Xenos was the $600 7800 GTX. If you wanted to get the best graphics at a reasonable price back in 2005 your best bet was to buy a $300/$400 360.

After using your 360 for a few years, then, the best time to 'jump' into PC gaming is mid-console lifecycle. By this point, hardware prices drop dramatically, a GTX 460 768mb for $200 puts Xenos to absolute shame, and really powerful CPUs are also available for low prices. At this point, it becomes possible to buy a budget PC for $500-$600 that really outpaces your console.

I don't believe that true. For me, I have PS3, 360, and nice ASUS laptop i got in march. My laptop cost at the time was 1200 bucks. The only game I play on it is World of Warcraft only and currently. The 360 I bought for my bro in 2007 was $399 halo edition and the PS3 my bro bought in 2009 was $299 bundle. I have to say that the consoles were the cheaper investment. In my opinion the best bang for your buck compare to my ASUS laptop. I don't play many pc games mainly because I like sitting down with my brothers and playing game with friends and etc, but if my bros wanted play WoW then they would all have to buy a labtop or rig for at least 450-600 plus monitor for each rig. whereas 360 or ps3 there is games we can play with paying extra controllers at 39.99 each. Its helps that 360 and ps3 are shooting for 7-10 year life span on their console. so I believe the console is cheaper.

P.S my laptop model if anyone wants to know is ASUS N61jq

you're doing multiple consoles against the pc?

Vesica_Prime

It just shows how good the PC is that it can hold it's ground to three platforms.

really? where is the market for pc gaming outside of hardcore gamers?

people vote with their wallets, and consumers have decided that consoles wins. retailers have a bigger library for console games then PC gaming. its just the truth. I don't see gamefly or rently places having pc games for rent.

the pc has more high scoring exclusives this generation alone than all three consoles combined.

Robbazking

What does that even mean? You and I know all five games. Console still wins.

Here on SW a certain faction is jealous of the PC's superiority, so they exclude it and downplay it's supremacy. It's actually quite ironic, since the attitude they claim hermits have towards consoles is the same attitude they have towards the other consoles.

They need to give it up, PC ownz their system. It's not even a competition.

where is your proof? you want to debate numbers? or maybe revenues? console wins hand down. so
