THE BEST GAME EVER. First time it took me four months to complete. After adjusting controller settings for mouse/keyboard the gamepad I tried with, was scrapped. No other game has given me so much value for money, and the game is not expensive nowadays. (I've bought it twice more because of cracks in the hole [hehe])

In waiting for GTA IV, many unofficial game developers have released thousands of mods to GTA SA, some changing not only cars, planes and textures, but also giving you new islands, new storylines and new competitions. The most ambitious project is perhaps GTA Berlin, which can be downloaded in beta-version now. Also under work is GTA Istanbul, bringing you moskeés and an oriental touch. It seems that Rockstar made a really good job making the "game-engine", since so many are devoted to SA-modding. - GRRRREAT!

Probably you are running F-ing VISTA. (The end of "The-Microsoft-success-story"?)

First you have to INSTALL the game under administrator rights. Then you must SHARE the game to anyone that uses the computer, and/or make programsettings "run as administrator". Also it is recommendable to download DirectX9c, even though it is supposed to be there already. (perhaps the VISTA won't let you do that, but insist.)

Finally, before starting the game, go to system settings and DISABLE ALL autostart objects, making it necessary to restart your computer. Funny - isn't it?

The place where it is supposed to be: "My Documents/GTA San Andreas User files" and their names should read: GTASAsf1.b, GTASAsf2.b, number indicating which place of eight possible it is. There are numerous files on the GTA forums to download if you want to, but most of them are - of course - 100% completed games.

I've changed the settings to numpad 8 & 2 (for down/up plane, lean forward/backward helicopter) and 1 & 3 (for plane siderudder, helicopter rotate). Arrow tabs (plane accelerate/decrease and bank left/right, helicopter increase/decrease height and banking) - it worked for me, but you'll have to practice.

If you have'nt found any planes or helicopters you have'nt jumped over the fence in Los Santos, witch can be done. Do not try to go into some other area or you'll end up with 5 stars....

Download the "SAMI-installer" -program (San Andreas Mod Installer) and try with another mod that is known to work well (some mods are'nt too good). I like the Plymouth Roadrunner 383-mod that was taken from NFS. (I think modders name was Pumpbar.) It works tremendously well and has some amazing reflections, making all other cars look like GTA III.

I've tried to mod ALL cars in SA, but after 30 mods or so, the game becomes almost unplayable. Thing is that the game must read files for different objects in a hurry when you move around, i.e. textures for buildings, new oncoming cars, pedestrians.... therefore it is essential that these files is placed in the right place on your hard drive. There is one tool "rebuilds" the archive, which is a good idea, but let the SAMI do it for you. It's the same fenomenom as with a fragmented hard-disc.

Are you running Vista or what? - 'cause that happens sometime, but will be resetted if you hit escape and then resume.

When targeting them it's wise not to have a gun in your hand. You may accidentally shoot them, and lose respect. What I find funny is that often one of the recruits jumps out of the car, making it impossible to continue with the mission, until you've found another one to replace him.

It is the game defaults. Even if you try another resolution, the result is somewhat the same. With better graphics card and newer drivers the only thing you see is sharper picture, more shadows and better sparks for example. I'm running it on Vista and have around 1Gb GPU memory (256 +dedicated) and it still looks as it did when I played it on my old AMD XP2200+ -platform. Crashing of your game can have something to do with anti-alaising or frame limiter. Don't mess with them, let the game find its own settings.
