Sometimes I think Gamespot is a Destiny fansite. Which is fine, I guess... but it just stands out when most gaming sites don't religiously report on in-game story developments for a live service game.
"Despite popular sentiment"? This is the first I've heard of such a "popular" sentiment. We got Death Stranding and RE2 remake. And Outer Worlds. Amazing year for gaming.
Gamespot has given out some bizarre scores before, but this one takes the cake. I mean... Prey? A 6, which I think was harsh but somewhat defensible. This game- a 9??! How the hell does this game move the ball forward in any way?! Just because it has freaking health packs? Ugh. This is embarrassing.
The fundamentals of this game aren't' appealing. There isn't room in the market for this and the legion of other well established, well regarded FPS multiplayer games. He needed to do something different, and he didn't. This won't ever be a success and frankly, the game industry has left Dude Huge behind.
