moronic episode, screen spaced global illumination has been available on 360/ps3 since crysis2 back in 2011. (crytek really is one of the company bringing revoluation rendering to video game production) pretty much most AAA games studio had their own kind of global illumination solution, including hybrid solution. So of course it's possible on console or maybe even mobile, just a matter of how much cut developers want to make in order to reach desirable performance and look. and PC game production is kind depend on console development, so it's kind pointless.
"Surprisingly, the console versions rank closely next to the PC at max, but miss out on a few visual treats. Looking at the graphics settings, texture and normal map options are present, where the PS4 and Xbox One impressively match the highest extra setting PC has to offer. However, for the interiors of Atlas' labs, specular mapping runs at one notch lower on console"
for everyone's information, if you don't have a OR and wish to get a taste in VR, you can have the same (or superior) experience by using Sony's HMZ-T3W Head Mounted if you have $1000 lay around, the really first VR headset made for game and movies alikes, it works on all ps4/ps3/xbox1/360.
I feel the need to salute to Nintendo's platform even though I don't own one or probably not going to. Let's be clear, Nintendo's first party games and their exclusive's snagged more 10/10 and highest rated Metacritic games of all time from last 2 gen than all other platforms combined in their entire history. hats off to the founder of all video game console business. Nintendo's first party games and their few exclusives single handedly kept the whole platform alive. Amen Nintendo nobles. Japanese games are dying? lol! yeah right, take that EA, UBI and Activision
Lol! sound like some people hate this game more than they care even though they never played it. and that 500 million dollars generated more hatred than its productivity. having said all that, I enjoyed the game thoroughly that's the only thing count.
This is why professional scores are irrelevant these days. Destiny is one of the kind game from my brief 20 hours experience, maybe because..... I didn't follow Destiny's hype, didn't join the beta, the full game was purchased digitally by a friend by surprise, tried it on launch day and enjoyed it thoroughly.
You know you are getting a quality game when you see one, and destiny is definitely one of them.
